To think OH prank isn't funny?

Today is the day I hear if I got the job I wanted I'm really banking on getting it and will be gutted if I don't.

I get terrible anxiety I worked myself up so much last week I had a panic attack. OH has been pranking me this morning of No caller ID he even got his brother to join in.

I kept thinking I missed the call and was wondering why they couldn't hear me when I kept saying Hello, I was getting my self into a right mess.

OH and his brother cracking up laughing messaging each other, now they've put me in a terrible mood.

AIBU to think this isn't funny or am I just too serious?

Not cool. Nasty,

Cannyapper · 15/03/2021 23:06

This is gaslighting. He's laughing at you, with his brother who he has enlisted to mock you. Pair your new job with a new man. This is nastiness.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/03/2021 23:24

@Topmum66

Cruel and now that he probably feels guilty he’ll try blame you for ‘ruining his mood today’. Whether you get the job or not, get rid of him.
He doesn't feel guilty.

He's angry that he's been taken to task for being a tw*t.

SkiingIsHeaven · 15/03/2021 23:52

Piss in his tea. That is a good prank. I wonder how funny he will find that.

katy1213 · 15/03/2021 23:53

You need a fresh start all round - new job, and get rid of him, too. Doesn't sound like you'e married, so just a straightforward dumping of rubbish you don't need.
He and his brother will be very happy together.

katy1213 · 15/03/2021 23:58

Oh dear, sorry - not so straightforward if you have children. But I'd still be planning my exit. Sounds like the thought of you having better job/pay/independence undermines him - well, it doesn't take much to undermine pathetic little men like this.

BobISMyUncle · 16/03/2021 02:42

Gosh. I've just read all your posts. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I really hope you get your new job. Even if you don't, I think you should seriously reconsider your relationship. I can't believe he did this, then blamed you for a "bad day" and has the audacity to sulk. Words fail me. Well, they don't actually. It's not anything I would want in print though! I'm making sentences out of swear words. That's never a good thing. Nor is this relationship. I use the term very loosely. Chin up. Elbows out. Good luck for Thursday! 14 pages worth of people telling you what a dick he is, should be enough, don't you think?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 16/03/2021 03:14

Glad to see that you're on the shortlist but yes, your OH is a total fucking dickhead, and so is his brother.

I would say ditch his sorry arse, but under the circs with you working and him doing childcare, he might get more custody of the children than you, which I doubt would be acceptable to you - so maybe look at that, and when you're in a better position, ditch his sorry arse.

I don't care if he's apologised - I bet he's only doing it for form's sake, not because he's ACTUALLY sorry - the sulking kind of gives it away.
Fucking puerile idiot.

notangelinajolie · 16/03/2021 03:34

I'm not one for saying this but you need to LTB.
Your DH is a total dick to laugh at you and he clearly does not love you if he thinks this is funny.
I absolutely could not stay with a man like this.

FleurPower123 · 16/03/2021 03:44

This reminds me of one of the partners at a firm I used to work at. He was Indian (it's relevant) and used to call up the new trainees from his mobile and try and put them on the spot. One of his favourite pranks was to pretend to be a racist client and something to the effect of "I've got a big case but I want an Englishman working on it....is Mr (name of partner) a foreigner....where's he from? Will my colleagues be able to tell he's foreign....how dark is he? " etc etc.

And the poor trainee would be mortified and falling over themselves to try and be diplomatic whilst placating the customer, with everybody listening in. I didn't think it was very funny tbh.

GabsAlot · 16/03/2021 09:34

what a horrible man what if the emploer had rang and you didnt believe it was them
