To think OH prank isn't funny?

Today is the day I hear if I got the job I wanted I'm really banking on getting it and will be gutted if I don't.

I get terrible anxiety I worked myself up so much last week I had a panic attack. OH has been pranking me this morning of No caller ID he even got his brother to join in.

I kept thinking I missed the call and was wondering why they couldn't hear me when I kept saying Hello, I was getting my self into a right mess.

OH and his brother cracking up laughing messaging each other, now they've put me in a terrible mood.

AIBU to think this isn't funny or am I just too serious?

Absolute arsehole.

thecatandthevicar · 15/03/2021 16:54

It's not the prank so much the problem, it's the refusal to apologise and be genuinely sorry to upset someone.

raincamepouringdown · 15/03/2021 16:58

He sounds vile, frankly, and so does his brother.

Does he often try to tear you down like this?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/03/2021 16:59

You are married to a twt. He and his brother are bothe twta.

"Jokes" which hurt and upset people aren't funny.

It's also disgusting to deny your distress, and blame you for spoiling the day, when it's their bullying.(yes - BULLYING) behaviour has caused you to be so upset.

Had they sincerely apologised and your husband comforted you it might have been possible to put it behind you (as long as it didn't happen again), but instead they are gaslingthing you and telling you it's your faultt for having no sense of humour.

Does he have form for this sort of horrible behaviour? And you do know that he will unmercifully teas and upset your children , don't you - and will make them in his own image, because becoming a bullying, gaslighting tw*t is the only way they will be able to protect themselves in his toxic world.

I hope you get he job. Then you can leave him.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/03/2021 17:00

Apologies for typos - I was SO effing angry on your behalf! Angry

Justcashnosweets · 15/03/2021 17:01

What an absolute prick. I'd be fuming!!

LexMitior · 15/03/2021 17:06

Does this job mean some financial freedom for you?

He and his brother are horrible. They don’t think too much of you. Or at all except to think how they can wind you up. Nasty

CherryValanc · 15/03/2021 17:06

This is no prank, He's a nasty man that is amused at the distress the has caused someone he claims to love?

He's the worst of nasty men to seeing he got angry you didn't find it funny either.

You are in a stronger position. I highly recommend you leave him,

tiredmum2468 · 15/03/2021 17:06

What an arsehole
Why are you with him??????

veganmayo · 15/03/2021 17:07

This breaks my heart a bit. The anxiety of waiting to hear back after an interview is excruciating, even if you don't suffer from it the rest of the time. I really hope you get the job, and I'm sorry your partner doesn't understand and/or care how you feel.

Has he at any point asked whether you've heard back yet, and do you think he will celebrate with/console you once you have? I hope you have someone you can turn to for those things, because I wouldn't be looking to him after this.

lakespring · 15/03/2021 17:08

He is an absolute tool OP.

ChameleonClara · 15/03/2021 17:13

He sounds unkind. I'm sorry you have this nastiness to deal with.

Why doesn't he work?

LynetteScavo · 15/03/2021 17:14

He sounds downright nasty. I wouldn't want to Brian relationship with him Sad

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 15/03/2021 17:18

Spiteful twat.

youshallnotpass9 · 15/03/2021 17:22

Not only is he being a massive dickhead, he is blaming you for being upset.

You say he looks after the kids, is this a mutual decision? Or is he just a cocklodger?

Headstand · 15/03/2021 17:27

This isn't funny. I would hate this if this happened to me, it's bullying and nasty and cruel. If this is what he is like and you were a friend of mine I would encourage you to leave.

icelollycraving · 15/03/2021 17:30

He’s really terribly cuntish.

goldielockdown2 · 15/03/2021 17:33

He's a cunt

justilou1 · 15/03/2021 17:35

Your DH & BIL's phones need to be dropped in the loo

23PissOffAvenueWF · 15/03/2021 17:36

@afternoonnapqueen

We've been together 4 years and have two DC's I already work full time and he looks after the kids.

What's annoyed me the most is he's not even apologised. He just thinks it's funny his brother just pranked me again and OH is still laughing.

I would never think of doing anything like that to someone!

This reads as if you’re saying you’re trapped, and so his behaviour is just going to be swept under the carpet.

I’m really sorry OP. I hope you get the job. It sounds like, financially, you could cope without him.

Mydogmylife · 15/03/2021 17:36

Did you get the job ?

SoulofanAggron · 15/03/2021 17:38

You're not wrong OP, it's horrible.

It amuses him to upset you repeatedly. Sad

He sounds awful.

Can you find a way to separate from him?

RuggerHug · 15/03/2021 17:40

Absolute prick. OP if it wasn't a weirdo thing to have a stranger do I'd offer but have you anyone close who's has a stern voice that could call him to advise he will be called in for questioning later in the week regarding a serious incident he has named as an involved person in? They can't give details over the phone but are advising he can arrange for his solicitor to be with him if he wishes. Let him shit a brick for a few hours panicking then say it's only a prank and he should have seen his face.

mineofuselessinformation · 15/03/2021 17:45

I'm struggling to see what's remotely funny about this.
Beside anything else, how is it a good idea for them to make your phone engaged multiple times when you're expecting an important call?
They're a pair of arses.

NovemberR · 15/03/2021 17:46

So he's an immature, nasty piece of work? And unemployed? With a dickhead of a brother?

Seriously. Dump and find a childminder. It will ultimately cost you less than he does and be a more rewarding relationship.

Most of them aren't such a twat as he is...
