Both positions are discriminatory. The common issue is violence in the streets.

A male totally innocent bystander shot dead by a drug dealer by error is just as tragic.

Why make it a competition and blame culture?

The oy worth message is to tackle violence, domestic and against strangers, end of.

But women are being killed deliberately, not caught in the crossfire of a turf war. And only women are being killed because of misogyny, which is why I think it's important that it's recognised as hate crime.

F4J are an absolute joke and always have been. Dangerous and hate mongering. I have friends dealing with non child maintenance paying and abusive ex's, who mention joining F4J as some kind of threat, and yes if you heard their story would think they are up for father of the year. Luckily my friends were able to laugh that their ex partners thought mentioning such an organisation would be intimidating!

You can imagine all the messages these alleged fathers send each other being "masterful" and dominant....

Women being told to walk with others, stay at home, stick to well-lot areas etc etc doesn't hit the headlines because it's socially acceptable to tell women to do things to stop the men from harming them.

When someone suggests stifling the men's freedom to do as they wish for protection it causes a bit of controversy.

The only member of fathers4justice i know is a family member who is claiming that his ex wife is alienating his children from him, lots of sad/angry/irritating sm posts on the subject. Not posts about how there was extensive ss and police involvement because he used violence against them all before she left him for good.

Jesus, I’ve heard of dads4justice & always presumed they were a respected organisation with good at the heart.

Just looked on their FB page, LOL what a bunch of thickos.

I knew a bloke who was a member of F4J. Never could figure out why. He dumped his girlfriend when she told him she was pregnant as it was obviously an attempt to trap him did everything he could to hide his assets and reduce his maintenance liability, and had never tried to have any contact with the child in the 10 years since the birth. What injustice was this 'father' suffering from?

@FatCatThinCat probably the injustice of having to man up and take responsibility for the child he helped produce. The injustice that his child needs financial support that he is legally entitled to. It's just too much for some parents to comprehend and feel that it is justified to allow their child to suffer, go without or have a potentially lesser quality of life whilst they fuck off Scot free. My own father was one of these losers. As an adult now I can see through all the shitty accusations, excuses and claims of alienation, being the perfect etc when infact he was a lazy, feckless waster.

Men are twice as likely to be murdered, that's true. However, whilst it doesn't make it right, many male victims are murdered because they are involved in criminal activity themselves, whereas the majority of women are ultimately murdered for being women. Add to that, whether the victim is male or female, 90% of the time the perpetrator is male. I don't believe women (it's not just feminists, indeed it's not just women) are waging a war on men at all. They are speaking out against male violence, especially against women.

F4J by and large are a bunch of pricks who think they can duck and dodge financially supporting their kids but at the same time expect unfettered access to them and invariably control the mothers into the bargain.

How much do these sorts of people raise/ do stuff to tackle male on male violence? Many seem to just mention it when women are complaining about male on female violence.

I'm sure some do (talking wider now- ALL the WATM people) but mostly it's a silencing tactic.

It's amazing how much we use the words "cunt" and "twat" though. We're doing ourselves a disservice in the mysogenistic language we use. Literal cunts and twats are amazing things. They're also why men attack us. We need to reclaim these words. I use "prick" and "bellend". I had to train myself though! It was a hard habit to break.
