COVID: Wales and Scotland ease restrictions - England to follow?

Just wondering if anyone has any leads on this?
I watched Prof Spector's update (ZOE app) last night and it's looking promising:

I have 2 wks off at Easter soon with my 5yo and i need to find stuff for her to do every day so the sooner i know, or at least have some inkling, the less stressful this will be as I'm also coping with other major things at the mo.

Is there a better forum to post this on? This is my first covid AIBU post and the two things tend to involve vitriol just on their own so god knows what some of the responces will be like :-D

BBC News - Lockdown: Boris Johnson unveils plan to end England restrictions by 21 June

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56158405

All here for you. Timings all set out. Dependent on how many cases there are too.

Norwaydidnthappen · 12/03/2021 09:18

Things will be slightly eased over Easter. The stay at home order is lifted 29th March and you can start seeing other households outdoors again, rule of 6 still in place though.

"Wales and Scotland ease restrictions - England to follow?"

No, we already have the plan for England.

MadeOfStarStuff · 12/03/2021 09:27

England set out their plans weeks ago, they will move faster than Wales (and probably Scotland but I’m not familiar with Scottish plans)

Google is your friend.

England have a road map and have for couple weeks and they have Said nothing will happen quicker , but there is a chance things can Happen later

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 12/03/2021 09:34

If you are aware about scotland and wales being lifted , how on earth have you missed englands ? It was on tv numerous times and in all the papers

TeapotCollection · 12/03/2021 09:37

I think the OP knows our schedule but is wondering if Boris might change it. The answer to that is no he won’t

PirateSwash · 12/03/2021 09:40

I think I saw a news article where even prof Neil Ferguson said that if things continued as well as they were, there could be scope for bringing forward some of the dates. I subscribe to a few YouTube channels (spectator, zoe app, unherd, RT, co-immunity, talk radio) and read the telegraph (I'm very left wing but telegraph have good covid coverage) and am fairly familiar with the road map (don't forget 15 parents and kids can meet together from 29th march, rule of six for almost everyone else). I'm wondering if there's a board on Mumsnet for covid news geeks like me. I will try and look tho I'm on my phone, can never find anything on here :-D

Errr no. It's one thing Boris has been clear on. No earlier than those dates and later if the data shows. Kids are back to school this week and we know how well that went last September.

Not sure if nearly 7, 000 cases and 182 deaths yesterday is classed as going well but hey ho.

peak2021 · 12/03/2021 10:13

I don't think there will be changes in England before Easter. Mr Johnson will not want people rushing out before then and being accused of going too early. Cynical me says he will also want a positive change to be as near to the various elections as possible, and given the level of postal voting, April 12th (so the weekend following for outdoor activities) seems appropriate).

daddyorchipsdaddyorchips · 12/03/2021 10:40

Restrictions in Scotland have BARELY been eased, certainly not compared to Wales.

"Up to four adults from two different households are now able to meet outside in parks or private gardens in Scotland.

Four people from different households are able to meet outside if they are aged between 12 and 17.

Outdoor non-contact sports have also restarted."

That's it. And frankly, if the local park is anything to go by, this was all happening already.

Beaniecats · 12/03/2021 10:43

No way will Whitty allow it

en0la · 12/03/2021 10:44

@Beaniecats

No way will Whitty allow it
Will he get a choice not to ?
Chloemol · 12/03/2021 22:51

We have the roadmap, dates are not going to be brought forward, and what happens on those dates depends on the four criteria

Look at the coronavirus board
