To think that a photo opportunity in a school with a black woman does not make you racist.

Visiting a school and chatting with a black teacher does not undo the damage.

OP posts:
ShastaBeast · 11/03/2021 18:39

Is it not more likely the other royal visit, to a black majority church, was a more obvious signal. They couldn’t necessarily know there was a black teacher in that school. But guaranteed to be black people in the church.

Slub · 11/03/2021 18:40

FFS not this again. Please bore off and post your drivel in 'Royal Family' my fucking finger hurts from having to hide all this crap from active convos Angry

Josette77 · 11/03/2021 18:41

You are the racist, signed POC How dare you suggest that woman should not have been there doing her job! Are only white people allowed to work in schools now? You are racist. Own that.

Doublevodka · 11/03/2021 18:42

So you're saying they purposely interacted with a black person today, to show they are not racist? Would you prefer it if they didn't speak to black people now?

LaurieFairyCake · 11/03/2021 18:43

Lol can you imagine if William and Catherine thought like the OP and tried to visit a school in London that didn't have a black teacher...

They wouldn't have been able to avoid it in Dh's school since all of SLT are BAME

DIshedUp · 11/03/2021 18:46

Firstly H&M didn't even say W&K were racist, they actually said the tabloids were racist and a member of the royal family.

Secondly what is william supposed to do? Tell the black headteacher that she can't be in the photograph with them? Sorry mate we can only photograph with the white guy?

Do you think they were desperately Googling black head teachers last night and arranged a royal visit last minute? Do you know how much actual planning goes into these visits?

UrAWizHarry · 11/03/2021 18:49

Christ why are people so invested in this. It's weird.

Whammyyammy · 11/03/2021 18:49

Oh fgs, bore off with this crap. I've just seen the news, they visited the school, spoke to children and teachers.
Oh wait, the co head must be a staged stooge and not the real co head, as she was planted to try and cover up that William and Kate are racists..... or OP is just a knob

anamazingfind · 11/03/2021 18:49

OH FFS. Yes the PR people went in and demanded they produce a black teacher in London where 44% of the population are BAME. Really had to search high and low to find a black teacher to counteract any racist overtones, because no black person has the intelligence to become a teacher do they OP. You are the fucking racist here.

iklboo · 11/03/2021 18:50

I've reported this.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 11/03/2021 18:50

So they specifically (and speedily) arranged for a visit to a school with black headteacher - an event that would have been arranged ages ago? Dear me, that’s a reach.

tracker222 · 11/03/2021 18:51

You are being utterly ridiculous.

Poncing · 11/03/2021 18:52

You think they called ahead and said “please make sure staff and kids we talk to are black. We need some optics here.”

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. You would prefer them to ring and say “make sure anyone black stays home. We don’t want to be accused of creating a photo opportunity because we’re big ol’ racists dontcha know”.

Hoppinggreen · 11/03/2021 18:52

Yes, William should have refused to be seen with her
THAT would certainly have proved he’s not racist.
Only one racist on here as far as I can see and it’s you OP

Lindy2 · 11/03/2021 18:52

The school visit would have been planned months and months ago.

I'm sure it was an exciting day for the children and staff there - of all races.

The Royal Family visit a lot of places and meet a lot of people from all backgrounds. They seem to be very skilled at putting all people they visit at ease regardless of who they are and taking a genuine interest in the places they visit.

It's only the OP who appears to feel the need to make a comment on the race of one of the people they spoke to today.

If they speak to a white man tomorrow on their next engagement will that be racist or sexist? No it will be just another royal engagement.

ilovepuppies2019 · 11/03/2021 18:52

This is terrible OP. Are you really suggesting that the school and teacher weren't chosen for any number of other reasons such as high performance, being a leading teacher, having responded well to COVID.... and the teacher just happened to be black? Do you mean that she could only have been chosen because she was Black and not for any other reason such as those I listed? What a terrible thought and very offensive for the teacher and the school. Visits are organised weeks to months in advance and that teacher was likely selected by the school because of her leading role. Please reconsider your comments.

MrMeSeeks · 11/03/2021 18:55

Wow im not!Rf lover, but you are being absolutely ridiculous and so offensive to this teacher!
So is all this teacher reduced to is tjeir colour?Confused get out of here!

toocold54 · 11/03/2021 19:00

I’m not suggesting that will and Kate are racist - I would suspect them of being the least racist out of the entire RF of anything.

But many times celebs will do things like this and it is so frustrating, there is a word for it which I can’t remember.
They are posed in front of a camera for ‘likes’ but actually nothing is being done.

During the BLM protesting I was asked if my DD could have her photo taken to be put on the school website. I get that they’re trying to be inclusive but I found it offensive that she’d never had her photo taken before for the school website and it just felt like it was something they could do without actually making any changes.

Mrsjayy · 11/03/2021 19:05

Should they have found a white teacher instead just put the black woman somewhere else Hmm are you saying that it was all engineered. Prince William was on a visit k and was ambushed what did you want him to say ?

AnotherName1334 · 11/03/2021 19:08

How dare you suggest that woman should not have been there doing her job! Are only white people allowed to work in schools now?

Is this really what the OP said?

AnotherName1334 · 11/03/2021 19:09

I've reported this

Why?

AnotherName1334 · 11/03/2021 19:11

@toocold54

I agree this sort of thing isn't far-fetched, not that I agree or disagree with the OP.
Griselda1 · 11/03/2021 19:15

Totally insulting to the lady in the photograph and such an unacceptable post.

SweatyPie · 11/03/2021 19:18

@ekidmxcl

Just because someone says you’re racist, it doesn’t mean you are actually racist. Because if everyone is believed about everything, without question, I’m going to the bank tomorrow and I’m going to tell them £1m went missing from my account and I need it back.

I'm willing to bet you'll swallow any crap the RF says without question, though.

William was sighted with a blank woman and also said he's no racist. I guess that's settled then.

Erkrie · 11/03/2021 19:22

Oh dear. So black women shouldn't be seen photographed with white high profile figures then, in case, like, they're being used for a photo opportunity 🤔
