They work for a bit ( or not at all) and then stop.

Do you really need to use proper Apple chargers for an iPhone/iPad ?

Does anyone have recommendations for chargers with 3 m long cables that don’t cost £££ and last for more than a month?

I got my last one in Tiger. It was cheap as chips and is at least 2 years old and still working fine. It's one of those ones that looks like it's wrapped in fabric if you know what I mean. Don't think they sell online though so maybe not particularly helpful.

I've been using "Unbreakcable" branded ones with no problems. Before that I've have Amazon basics ones which lasted well. Until my children borrowed them and broke them- for some reason they're much harder on cables than I am.

I use the Amazon basics ones and they last at least 18 months

I agree amazon ones are good

Mine all seem fine - not sure what I'm doing differently.
Also use a couple of those USB sockets to charge.

I don’t understand how people have issues with Apple chargers honestly

When I was a teen, my 1m charger in my bedroom would quickly get bent and split at the lightning port end because I wasn’t using it correctly - when I was in bed texting I would bend the wire to get in a comfortable position with a short charger.

Switched to 2m length and my apple lightning cable lasted a few years. It’s user error. I switched to usb c and still haven’t had an issue.

Sorry to clarify, I only replaced my charger for the faster capabilities of usb c, it still works

LadyPoison · 11/03/2021 12:00

I just put the cables into my wall socket usb ports. Chargers are annoying.
