Who wants to join me on a Thelma & Louise road trip?

I need the wind in my hair and the sun on my skin. Good tunes on the open top car stereo. We will take route 66 and make our money by singing in bars along the way.

My guidebook/bible is www.amazon.com/Bad-Girls-Guide-Open-Road/dp/0811821706?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Who's coming?

Don’t fancy doing the film ending though..

Sparklesocks · 10/03/2021 23:08

It’s a nice idea but if I remember rightly it doesn’t end well!

I’d rather not be nearly raped in a car park or [redacted spoiler]. I’d be up for an evening in a motel with (young) Brad Pitt and a road trip with some banging tunes though.

Well, apart from that bit obviously!

I really want a road trip now. To be carefree and listening to good music, loudly. I hitchhiked across desert terrain in a hot country years ago and had that feeling of being adventurous, free and completely at one with the natural world and I miss it so much. (and I wasn't on drugs!!). I've tried being sensible - perhaps it's just not meant for all of us and some of us need to have our wild side free?

See, this was really the part I was focusing on. And driving along dusty empty roads with the sun shining, music blaring, your hair free in the wind and your best travelling companion with you.
