To think I imagined this on TV **TRIGGER WARNING PHYSICAL ABUSE***

I have a memory of seeing a TV short, I'm sure it was on Blue Peter, about child abuse. It would have been late 80s/early 90s. Maybe it was an episode about child abuse or an awareness week (did we have those back then?)

Basically, they showed a short film about a boy who was unpopular at school. He wanted to take home the school rabbit but one of the bullies got to take it instead. For some reason, the unpopular boy broke into the bully's house and took the rabbit home. The bully and his friend found out and went and told the boy's dad. They got the rabbit back and then the boy's dad beat him with a belt while they looked on shocked. I think it ended there. It's stuck in my mind all these years but no one else I know remembers it. It was horrific but obviously had an effect!

Please tell me someone else remembers it.

That was an episode of Dramarama. I remember it. I believe it was a 'special' episode and the presenter afterwards gave advice what to do if you needed help (or knew someone). Possibly may have been linked with the launch of Childline.

Thank you!!! I knew it wasn't some weird messed up dream. I don't remember dramarama thought, but that one was seriously haunting

I only saw it the once but I have always remembered it. Dramarama was on ITV and each episode was a stand alone story and different genres each time. Some might have been 'pilot' episodes for other shows I think.
