Thomas Markle trying to force Meghan to speak to him.

When the wedding stuff blew up I was inclined to think he was more clueless than horrible. Then he did his interview, about what she 'owed him' and I found it a lot harder for to feel sympathy for him. Just seen a clip of the GMB interview and heard him say he will do a story every 30 days unless Meghan speaks to him. Whatever you think of them and what they have done, what kind of father threatens his (pregnant) daughter that way?

YABU - he is just a hurt father who is desperate
YANBU - his behaviour is repellent and she is better off without him.

I'm not sure how he thinks this is going to help. She's just going to think he's an even bigger douche bag. Does he expect her to be a loving daughter after he's threatened all this?

Trying to be fair, he probably thinks his daughter uses the media to make money and control her public image, so doesn't see why he shouldn't also.

These are my thoughts too - MM is using the media to generate income, why shouldn’t he? Hes got nothing to loose if she doesn’t like him anyway.

I think it's very telling that the parent Megan is actually close to has not said a single word to the press.

Saw him on GMB today, he didn't seem very well and it was a pretty sad interview - but tbh anyone who has gone NC with a parent knows it's not done lightly.

He’s vile. I doubt she will ever make contact with him again but if she did I’d give it a few months before he sells his story of the reconciliation to the press.

It’s so sad when they seemed to be so close when she was a teenager.

I think they are both as bad as each other. They are both living as reality "stars" repackaging and selling a distorted version of their lives for public consumption.

She has tonnes of money and he doesn't so I think even less of her for being so grasping compared to him.

Saying he will basically continue to trash talk her to the press until she speaks to him is manipulative and emotional blackmail and I don’t think she should succumb to that.

July (bumper holiday edition): Meghan having a sit with a cuppa

I'd say this: keep schtum, Meghan and let him blow himself out.

Did anyone see the extra clip from the interview where Ophrah asks her about her father? I thought she went out of her way to say he was pressured and coerced by the press and that it disappointed and hurt her but she was also trying to protect him - and this is how he repays her? I don’t know what to make of that, whether she genuinely thinks he wouldn’t have acted that way if the press hadn’t hounded him but now it looks like he is the biggest shit ever, or if she manipulated her response to make her family seem more hard done by, by the press and RF?

In any case YNABU and she’s better off without him - the difference between his interview and the Queen’s statement speaks volumes. Her mum must be an absolute Angel
