Would you cut all ties with your partner in return for cash?

(Lighthearted!!)
Curious as to how much it would take to cut ties with your significant other.
Or is your relationship priceless to you?
Obviously if there are kids involved there would be some arrangements made there for the kids to see both of you, but you wouldn't be allowed to see the person romantically any more.
If no kids involved it's a cut of all ties and communication.
Cash waiting!!
Not with exdh now but there would have definitely have been a time I'd have said there was no amount as what we had was priceless, then I would have been happy with a few million in the following years, then perhaps nearing the end the amount would have been way lower!!

Christ no.

LunaHeather · 08/03/2021 22:38

I'm single

But looking at the partner I loved

Hell yes. Money always better. You never know how people will turn out either but money in the bank? Priceless, sorry for the pun but so true.

milinhas · 08/03/2021 22:39

Absolutely not

KellyJonesLeatherTrousers · 08/03/2021 22:39

No amount of money could make me do this. Our family life, our partnership and the way he supports me on a day to day basis (I don’t mean financially) is too fundamental to my happiness.

That's encouraging to read!!

Not a chance. No amount of money would be worth not having DH.

Shelovesamystery · 08/03/2021 22:41

Few million? Yeah of course!

MadeForThis · 08/03/2021 22:41

No way.

MyLittleOrangutan · 08/03/2021 22:41

No. I wouldn't choose any amount of money over DH, he's my best friend.

ComtesseDeSpair · 08/03/2021 22:41

Probably, yes. I think he’d say the same.

meow1989 · 08/03/2021 22:43

Nope. We've been together since I was 16, we essentially grew into adults together and 15 years on I'm not completely sure what kind of.person I would be with out him, not to mention how wonderful it is watching him with ds and how easy it is just being silly and relaxed together.

Money can be gained, I've only got one dh

Lastbonestanding · 08/03/2021 22:45

No, I wouldn't unless maybe we needed the money for medical care to save one of the DC.

MsVestibule · 08/03/2021 22:46

Absolutely no way! We've never been 'love's young dream' but he's central to my happiness and no amount of money could replace that.

uhtredsonofuhtred1 · 08/03/2021 22:49

I would actually pay my exH to leave me alone and would've done for the last few years of our relationship!

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 08/03/2021 22:49

No because then I wouldn’t have him to enjoy it with! The joy he brings to my life is priceless.

ask me again when he’s left a trail of rubbish and socks behind him

jellyteeth · 08/03/2021 22:50

Definitely. All I'd need is enough money to buy my own house.

SilverOtter · 08/03/2021 22:51

Not in a million years.

Bloodybridget · 08/03/2021 22:51

Good god, no! I want all the time I can have with her.

Papadontpreach999 · 08/03/2021 22:51

I would agree to that in the last few years of my marriage too!!

I couldn't.

Dh said a 10er... either he didn't take the question seriously or he doesn't value me very highly 😂

CatherinedeBourgh · 08/03/2021 22:53

No, we both gave up a vast amount of money to be together.

Don’t regret it at all, would do it again.

Sorefret · 08/03/2021 22:54

There have been times when I thought of leaving, but even then, I don't think this could go well and I wouldn't have taken it.

Some things aren't and can't be about money. Imagine your children knowing you left their dad for cash, even if you were going anyway.

tunnocksreturns2019 · 08/03/2021 22:56

Well he died, and I did get some money though it wasn’t that much.

I’d give it and everything else I have for just one more day with him.

[please do revert to lighthearted! Previous boyfriend before late DH - 50p?!]

wellthatsunusual · 08/03/2021 22:57

Nothing financial could persuade me either.

The only thing that could persuade me to cut ties with him would be some sort of psychological horror film type of hypothetical situation where it was the only way I could save the life of my children.

WetWeekends · 08/03/2021 22:57

I recon £500,000 would do it. Makes me quite sad to think that actually, although I obviously already know the relationship isn’t great anymore. I’d do it to be able to provide for the kids properly. I’m unable to work due to a health condition, so can’t go out and earn the money any longer.
