AIBU to like the smell of DC's feet

My DS is 9 and ever since he was a baby I've liked smelling his feet - they smell so much of him!
He thinks I am a total weirdo but I reckon lots of other mums will do this too, so aibu to like the smell of his feet?!

I've always loved the smell of ds (2.5) breath, (unless he is unwell inwhich case it smells like raw meat).

And at night he's a sweaty sleeper and I love the smell.

Can't say I've noticed a foot smell, but I do kiss his feet a lot.

I've never understood the baby head smell thing though.

Idiotathome79 · 08/03/2021 22:18

I am the same with my 7 year old daughter she thinks it's funny but I do love her feet 😂

EiffelPower · 08/03/2021 22:22

When my ds was a baby I loved snuzzling his feet! They smelled of angels! He's 13 now. They don't smell of angels anymore Sad my dd's feet smell of wotsits!

livelyredjellybean · 08/03/2021 22:24

I’m so glad it’s not just me; I love the smell of my girls’ feet too 🙈 And with my DH it’s the middle of his chest. Can’t get enough of either smell!

haveapieceoftoast · 08/03/2021 22:24

disgusting

Sleepyquest · 08/03/2021 22:26

Omg me too!! I thought I was just a weirdo haha

anxiouscrazymum · 08/03/2021 22:32

I love my DCS morning breath, I make sure I get lots of cuddles just to smell them! Shock

ApolloandDaphne · 08/03/2021 22:36

I love the smell of my dogs feet. They smell like biscuits.

BabyPotato · 08/03/2021 22:44

Haha. I can completely understand stuff like this. I love the way my DS smells and find it utterly adorable. He's a sweaty sleeper too and I love the smell of his hair at night. Must be true love. Grin

Zerrin13 · 08/03/2021 22:49

I still love kissing my son's and daughters toes. They are 16 and 17!

Letsplough · 08/03/2021 22:50

Yes, love my 9 year old DS feet smell, morning breath ....no thank you 🥴

emsyj37 · 08/03/2021 22:51

I love the smell of my DCs' ear wax Blush
I could spend ages with my nose in their ears.

SenecaTrewe · 08/03/2021 22:51

I love the smell of baby DD's feet, especially when she's a bit sweaty Blush

indemMUND · 08/03/2021 22:54

Erm, just DD's head when she was tiny and her blanket now (she's 9 and still can't sleep without it, and I know she'll grow out of it soon). Always have a sniff before I wash it because it smells of her.

Everything about my 2year old smells amazing! Except anything that goes into her nappy but even that doesn't bother me. Same as other people have said; I love the smell of her breath, her sweat, her feet, her hair, the whole lot! It's almost like when you're in really love with someone and nothing about them grosses you out because you're so smitten. All babies smell good when they're born, but the smell of my daughter was like crack to me.

BillyAndTheSillies · 08/03/2021 23:24

With DS1 it's his feet, he's only five and still accepts it.
DS2 it's his chubby little hands. I could sniff them all day.
Similarly to a pp, my DH's chest. Could lay there sniffing him quite happily all night.

Mellonsprite · 08/03/2021 23:40

Cant say I’ve ever smelled their feet but I still love the smell of their heads. It does annoy them somewhat as they are now 16,15 & 11 and the older 2 have to bend down so I can give them a good sniff. Thankfully DD11 is still onboard for a cuddle and a head sniff though.

Savethewhales · 09/03/2021 02:02

Lol you're all weird but in a good way.. I used to pretend to eat my daughters feet when she was a baby, she'd giggle her head off, when she started to walk I didn't though... I wouldn't sniff my kids maybe as babies but defo not now their older
This post cracked me up though lol

GeidiPrimes · 09/03/2021 02:10

I love the smell of my dogs feet. They smell like biscuits.

I was going to say this too! (his breath an entirely different matter - he eats actual shit Envy)

Ditto! I feel the same... minus the nappies not bothering me. I could do without them! Grin
Shnuffles · 09/03/2021 02:34

Another who sniffs my dogs' feet.

Never sniffed a child's feet before, but I guess if it's possible to like the smell of a dog's foot, then it's not so strange to like the smell of your own child's foot. Grin

My daughter has always smelled like caramel. She’s 9, and I still give her head a good sniff on occasion. My son smells like fresh straw (and at times like wet dog. We don’t have a dog. Weird.)
