To think my gander should not come into my house.

We have a half dozen geese, one of them a gander. The other afternoon I heard honking close by and investigated to find our gander in our entryway honking for dinner for him and his harem. Obviously, he was sent as spokesgoose.

You really want to make sure you say you prayers tonight. Quite vicious these goosey ganders.

Word of warning...we keep chickens. One cold winter night we moved our two silkies into the conservatory...they lived there for 10 years.
Our current ex battery girls often pop into our lounge (conservatory was demolished for an extension!)

Heed the warning that is Animal Farm!

ladymalfoy · 08/03/2021 20:28

You can’t just leave the thread hanging! I love geese.

VestaTilley · 08/03/2021 20:28

YABU not to upload a picture of him.

SHOW US THE GEESE

SirVixofVixHall · 08/03/2021 20:29

I am deeply envious.

HighlandCowbag · 08/03/2021 20:30

Awww he's lush.

We have chickens on our allotment and they are always whirring round my legs like feathery cats. If they lived at home they would be in the house constantly.

We also have a pet pigeon that we found injured 4 years ago. He's called Kez and I have to make sure the back door and window is closed if he's out as he comes looking for us. He's also been known to go to ndns as well but only the side that feed him when we are on holiday. Birds are cleverer than they look.

babbaloushka · 08/03/2021 20:33

I thought this was going to be about gender Grin

shouldistop · 08/03/2021 20:36

I thought it was a typo for gardener too and thought it was going to be one of those threads where the op was horrified that someone might need to use the loo.
Your thread is so much better Grin
A duck couple (Jake and Jemima obviously) used to turn up at my mums front door every evening from the nearby loch and quack to be fed. She bought th

I know a gander named Tom Honks. He's very aptly named.

QueenOfLabradors · 08/03/2021 20:43

I also thought this was a mistype for gender... Now all I want are the photos!

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 08/03/2021 20:46

Buy him a creme egg?!

killickthere · 08/03/2021 20:52

It's in his job description- he's merely wandering upstairs, downstairs, and in his lady's chamber.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 08/03/2021 20:53

Is he gander confused?

Lemmeout · 08/03/2021 20:53

A goose bit me when I was little. Just remembered there Grin

CMOTDibbler · 08/03/2021 20:59

Recently, one of my hens had to come and live indoors for a couple of weeks after a fox attack. Since then, she has decided that being indoors is the place to be, and while I was trying to get the puppy to wee in the garden yesterday she wandered in and settled down on the sofa - thankfully I checked before letting puppy off the lead when I came back in. She comes and pecks on the door several times a day in search of biscuit (surrounded by her acolytes)

EntropyBanana · 08/03/2021 21:03

Was it a lovely morning in the village?

I think he might have been auditioning for this - goose.game

Felifox · 08/03/2021 21:55

My neighbours lost chickens and there were 2 left, one in each of 2 neighbours. They've paired up and moved in together. Have to keep the back door closed as they advance towards the house quickly. My neighbour came in from work to find the younger teenager and dog on one sofa, the cats on another and the bantams on the back of the sofa. Fortunately the ducks don't come in. All are shut in their houses at night and the call duck tells everyone when it's bedtime
