Watching it now. I think Meghan and Harry were looking set to being a real threat to the popularity of Wills and Kate and the Institution really messed up the way they handled it. The institution and RF are cold. Meghan didn’t understand what she had got herself into.

The scummy racist English press have a lot to answer for. I hope they don’t get away with it?! Alas, what can you really do?!

I don't understand why anyone would do this interview. You don't say private things in the public.

Especially when you want to step away from media attention and are a private couple apparently. Her comments on Kate show she is bitter and jealous . This is a forty year old woman not some teen .

The private wedding vows is romantic the wedding day was a public event.

The press stuff was fascinating. The RF survive because of the press.

I am neither team but this just horrible. Its like listening to teenage girls bitching about other teenage girls, some things are not for prime time tv and this is one of them.

I'm not against Meghan. The press have been vile to her, and I think the comments on here that essentially say 'oooh there's just something I don't like about her' probably translate to a mix of racism and misogyny, along with the garbage about how nasty Meghan stole our wonderful Harry.

I do think as a couple they have handled things badly and have misjudged how much sympathy much of the public will have at the idea of 2 wealthy adults in their 30s having to, boohoo, pay for their own family's lifestyle.

There's no way I'd want any daughter of mine to marry into an institution like the Royal Family. Anyone with an ounce of sense can see it's a machine that preserves itself and living that life is full of blessings and curses.

Surprising myself to say Team Meghan!

I didn’t watch the interview and I don’t really want to be on a team, but I think I am team RF.

• no one “makes someone” cry unless you are still in primary school
• I don’t believe she wasn’t allowed to get mental health support if she needed it.
• I think it’s all a bit shitty and undignified and so unnecessary. If Harry actually wants a relationship with his brother and father then this is the wrong way of going about it.

I think Oprah and some Americans don’t appreciate how fragile the monarchy is - lest not forget several have been toppled and their heads chopped off in recent history.

Harry is right that Charles and William and others are trapped. Leaving for them is an abdication, only so many of those and everyone is wondering (more than usual) what the point of the RF is.

I can’t imagine living with the amount of press, even if it was positive - which it wasn’t. They seem to have missed the part of being financially supported, you can’t be as that would be UK tax payers.

Don’t agree with everything Meghan says but can only imagine how shit that life is.

MN is usually very quick to point out how entitled anyone is if they so much as expect anyone to give way to someone walking up behind them on the pavement. Here we have two self absorbed, celebrity culture obsessed, entitled individuals publicly annihilating the reputation of his closest family members. All because the firm wouldn’t bestow titles and millions for security when they wanted to leave their jobs. Go figure.
