So £400 on 2
Outfits
If they'd gone to get stuff for the kids too that might have been nice

Some people just think the world owes them a living and I think the rich guy is very kind to take him under his wing and mentor him

My friend has epilepsy and works she just deals with it

Poppet1974 · 07/03/2021 22:07

There’s something about the concept of ‘Rich House Poor House’ which makes me uncomfortable.

Pebbledashery · 07/03/2021 22:08

I'm interested in knowing how he shaved 12k off his debt.
From that 1k+ budget.. They could've at least bought the daughter a toy each.

tiredmum2468 · 07/03/2021 22:20

@Pebbledashery

I'd imagine rich guy helped him out!

edwinbear · 07/03/2021 22:25

They’d have a much nicer ‘rich’ house without that Ferrari in the garage. Which I bet is on finance.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 07/03/2021 22:33

I wonder what they said to the two little boys before the interview for one of them
to say that the 'poor house' would smell?

The 'rich house' did surprise me.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 07/03/2021 22:35

The red dress does look lovely.

willibald · 07/03/2021 22:39

They guilted the neighbours into paying them to wash cars by showing up with cameras behind them and then claim they're so canny at making money. And yy, the 'rich' gal brought up the TVs. What a cow.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 07/03/2021 22:39

Cringe cringe bucks fizz cringe

Mudflapsarego · 07/03/2021 22:41

My friend has epilepsy and works she just deals with it

That's harsh; there are massive differences in the severity and frequency of epilepsy attacks.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 07/03/2021 22:42

Going out solo.

...Only an entire camera crew with her

TellerTuesday4EVA · 07/03/2021 22:45

Going off point but is this programme still on C5? Every time I look on C5 on demand it's always the episode I've already seen a while ago, are the new ones not added??

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 07/03/2021 22:46

My friend has epilepsy and works she just deals with it

That's ridiculous & unkind. Like many conditions it varies enormously how & how much it affects people

tiredmum2468 · 07/03/2021 22:47

My friend is a social worker and was a health visitor she said having 3/4 giant tellys is often prioritised over necessity and essential items

No wonder they're in a mess

I'm watching it 'live' now on C5+1.

snd I just checked, it's recording.

tiredmum2468 · 07/03/2021 22:50

She can't work but looks happy to keep pouring alcohol down her neck at any given opportunity

My friend doesn't drink on her epilepsy meds at all

Yes there's varying degrees of any illness however you've got to kind of help yourself a bit in life

Lampzade · 07/03/2021 22:51

I stopped watching it because I became increasingly uncomfortable with the premise of the show and the fact that the ‘rich’ people were using the show to advertise their businesses
Furthermore, some of the houses which were referred to as ‘poor’ houses were actually quite decent homes

Me too. It's really awful.

My friend is also a social worker and was a health visitor and she says thats a load of old bollocks
GreenlandTheMovie · 07/03/2021 23:00

I only watched one episode of this show. The "rich" family were really brash and had quite vulgar tastes. The "poor" family were really polite, well brought up and had quite cultured tastes, including horses, which they cared for (very lovingly) themselves. Very confusing as I kept forgetting which was which.

MyDcAreMarvel · 07/03/2021 23:01

They didn’t buy treats for the kid because they weren’t allowed to. They do t choose what to spend the money on, the tv company does.

Pebbledashery · 07/03/2021 23:04

Financed ferrari🤣

Polkadotties · 07/03/2021 23:08

The rice people had 4 cars, Ferrari, Aston martin, q5 (or maybe q7) and a vintage fiat 500 and that totalled £150k. Must have been cheap ones.

Whatafustercluck · 07/03/2021 23:10

We've driven through Higham Ferrers quite a few times, it's a lovely place.

I was more bowled over by the niceness of the poor house than the ordinariness of the rich house.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 07/03/2021 23:10

It's my hometown, the rich family are lovely
