My Dad was 8 year my mums senior, they met when she was 20 and married when she was 21 and had me 10 years later. He passed away when I was 12 and my mum hasn't ever felt the need to remarry. She's very happy alone and very much of the opinion that she had her soul mate and no one would ever match my dad.

Anyway! They were always adamant that they met on my mums first day of work. My dad had worked there about 10 years at that point, love at first sight kind of thing. However my Nana also worked with dad at some point in the previous 10 years and when we were going through old photos last June we found one from a pantomime in 1970.. and I asked why she had it and she said she didn't know. But her and my dad were in the photo.

It was a trip for the kids of the people who worked for the company apparently they did things then, and my dad had been roped into helping driving them to the theatre in Llandudno..

so there was a photo of my mum and dad, dad aged 20, mum aged 12, mum with her friends and dad driving the coach to the theatre 10 years before they met for real! She says she remembers thinking the driver was grumpy as fuck as he didn't speak to any of them Grin

So aibu to ask for really random things that have happened ? Like you go on holiday around the world and bump into your neighbour on the street kind of thing. I love hearing things like this :)

I was travelling on a train by myself when I was around 15 or so.

Jumped into a train carriage at random and discovered I was sharing it with a man who looked like an Uncle who I rarely saw (I'd last seen him about 4 years prior to that).

Being 15, it took me a good 10 mins to ask him if his name was "XXXX"....

It was indeed my Uncle!

I often think about that in terms of butterfly effect, as I could have caught an earlier or later train or got on a different carriage. Complete coincidence that we were in the same time / place.
