My skin is in need of some tlc. I currently use a milk cleanser and moisturiser. The occasional face mask. It's combination and sensitive. What are your top 5 skin care products that you couldn't live without?

You need sun cream.

Outwithreason · 03/03/2021 16:44

I love hyaluronic acid. It has worked wonders on my dry skin. I use the Vichy one which was recommended on here.

Outwithreason · 03/03/2021 16:45

I also use LRP Anthelios sun screen after moisturiser and before makeup.

Boots Good Skin Cica Paste

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanse and polish. I have been using it for 20 years, I try other brands/products and I always go back to it.

Confusedandshaken · 03/03/2021 17:03

I agree that the most important thing is a good daily sunblock. Nothing else will give you the same return for your money.

I also like Boots Ingredients Vitamin C Serum and hyaluronic Acid, currently on a 3 for 2 offer. I use The Ordinary retinol in Squalane. These are all budget choices and as good as many more pricey products. Alpha H liquid Gold Glycolic acid is also very good but a lot more expensive.

poppycat10 · 03/03/2021 17:09

I like Superdrug's vitamin E range, I use their cleanser (much cheaper than Liz Earle's cleanse and polish and just as good as LE keep changing the formula of theirs) and moisturiser with SPF.

Otherwise I like Aveda lip saver.

I don't use much else, although I get the odd treat in beauty advent calendars like Elemis or Lumene creams.

BioDerma Sensibio Micellar Water
la Roche Posay Effaclar foaming facewash
Paulas Choice 2% BHA toner
The Honest Co hydrogel moisturiser
Pro-Heal Serum Advance by iS Clinical

Zenithbear · 03/03/2021 17:57

Home made honey face mask
As above with a sprinkle of sugar for exfoliation
Water and lemon juice drink every morning
Pure argon oil - massage in then wash off with warm water.
Factor 50 suncream

alanpartridgefromtheoasthouse · 03/03/2021 18:02

Clarins cleansing milk with alpine herbs
Pixi Glow acid toner
Estée Lauder advanced night repair serum (night)
Dr Sebagh hyaluronic serum (day)
Lumene Arctic hydra care day cream

I am not a beautiful woman but I do have very good skin Smile it's pretty much the only thing I spend time and money on.

To be honest though I think the products you use are less relevant than the routine you follow. Doing a thorough skincare routine morning and night makes a huge difference almost regardless of the products you use.

No 7 protect and perfect serum
Astral

That’s all.

The best cleanser by far- that always leaves skin fresh, clear of breakouts and not dry is the Clinique facial soap bar. It's gentle on skin but does the job. Lather up with water and apply with flannel or hands /wash off morning and night. Gets rid of any dry patches and perfect base for makeup.

Nivea classic white tube £2.50 moisturiser

Clinique moisture surge tub when skin gets really dry

DianaT1969 · 03/03/2021 18:07

Superdrug Hot Cloth Face Cleanser (Green box). Just as good, if not better than Liz Earle. Had both and prefer Superdrug.

Nip+Fab hyaluronic serum

Nip+Fab glycolic exfoliation pads

Athelios Factor 50

The Ordinary Marula Oil for hydration

M&S gradual tanning drops. I like Clarion's, but these are cheaper.

Cloudyrainsham · 03/03/2021 18:44

Cerave foaming face wash
0.5% tretinoin
Cerave moisturiser
Sunscreen

HavfrueDenizKisi · 03/03/2021 18:44

Eve Lon cleanser. I've tried others - liz Earle etc and not a patch on Eve Lom.

Astral.

Do love the liz Earle super skin night serum though.

hippityhippityhop · 03/03/2021 19:10

Thank you. All of those recommending sun scream- do you use this as well as moisturiser? Which order? Can you recommend one that won't make my face oily!
