To ask what time is tea time?

I'm in the north (I'm not British though) a local supplier is making a delivery to me tomorrow - she has asked if 'tea-time' suits me for delivery.

What time is tea-time please?

Answers on a postcard! (I'll be home all day due to lockdown anyway!)

About 5pm

BobbitWormNightmares · 27/02/2021 20:49

Dinner time - 5-7pm

GintyMcGinty · 27/02/2021 20:49

5-6pm

MrsJBaptiste · 27/02/2021 20:52

5-7pm but 7pm would be the latest.

I'd think 5-6pm would be the norm.

NovemberR · 27/02/2021 20:55

I'm Northern. Teatime is between 5-6pm.

BackforGood · 27/02/2021 21:01

Between 5 and 6 here in the Midlands.

customwatkins · 27/02/2021 21:28

Thank you all! I think 5-6 pm seems the most common assumption. I'll be ready and waiting from 3pm - 7pm and come back tomorrow to let you know what time my delivery arrived!

Dinner time - 5-7pm

No, dinner time is 12 'til 2.

Dinner time is 8pm

Why are people saving their butties until after tea?

donquixotedelamancha · 27/02/2021 22:47

Caveat to say I'm not Northern

Never mind, nobody's perfect.

IndecentCakes · 27/02/2021 22:52

When the clock strikes four. Everything stops for tea.

Hollowtree3 · 27/02/2021 22:53

5-7pm

3CCC · 27/02/2021 23:00

I'd say somewhere between 4pm
& 6pm

My grandparents were northern (N.Yorkshire ) and when they said theydyarrive at around teatime this is when they'd show up

McEwan · 27/02/2021 23:22

Book marking to see the result. I’d say 4.45 to 5.30pm

snowblower · 27/02/2021 23:24

Teatime is around 5pm in our house

partyatthepalace · 27/02/2021 23:25

I’d take it to mean afternoon tea time - so 4-5.30 ish. If you think he might actually mean supper time then that might be quite late.

I’d ask him -

Devlesko · 27/02/2021 23:29

whenever you have your evening meal.
If it's early then you have supper later.
Dinner is what you have about noon/ 1pm

QueenPaw · 27/02/2021 23:31

Between 4-6
If it was after 6 I would say early evening or after tea

minniemoocher · 27/02/2021 23:41

5-7 generally

DramaAlpaca · 27/02/2021 23:45

As someone who grew up in the north I'd say between 5-6pm.

Rubybluesy · 27/02/2021 23:49

5-6pm

MintyMabel · 28/02/2021 00:06

And we still don’t know when it turned up?? Come on @customwatkins, let us know!

ifitpleasesandsparkles · 28/02/2021 00:14

Breakfast in the morning
Dinner around 12/1
Tea in the evening between 5-7

midnightstar66 · 28/02/2021 07:22

I'd say 5/5.30 ish

midnightstar66 · 28/02/2021 07:24

And i really want to know what the actual answer was 👀😆

McEwan · 28/02/2021 11:21

And we still don’t know when it turned up??
