My 12 yr old son has Hyper Molarisation and Hypo myplasia,
Hes had work done on affected molars in the past, and one of his front teeth is particularly effected.
It was originally said thet could do something to help with it but were dismissive if doing any thing at the time, Angry
i said it was a good idea as he will get to that age soon and feel concious of it, the dentist said "is it more about you mum?" Angry
So, of course here we are, at that age, obviously no one could have forseen covid but im desperate to get it sorted for him and i cant so much as get an appointment, im stessing big time for him, im also angry my concerns were dismissed.
Id go private but DH is less convinced,
Anyone with any dental knowledge? im feeling quite powerless to help DS atm. Sad

I’m not really familiar with the issue but just wanted to say that as his mother you are your son’s main advocate (along with his father) and the two of you care about him more than anyone else in the world does! The dentist was being an idiot. What was he implying, that you only care because you don’t want to be seen with him or something?!?
Covid will settle down later in the year and he will hopefully be able to be seen and treated fairly soon. But please ignore that dentist, his comment was very odd.

My daughter has continued dental treatment throughout Covid. She had a brace and retainer fitted and is having 6 week check ups.
Why won’t they see him? Are they closed?

We're in a similar situation, ds5 has hypoplasia and we were told to get an appointment the minute adult teeth came in so they could start treating it. 4 months later and still no appointment. And despite what anyone says he notices and is so paranoid over his teeth. Am just going to keep on trying until we get somewhere.

when i ring i get the old covid message about only doing emergency appointments
not actually spoken to anyone all week
i might email them covid or not, its not good enough, i know a few may view it as a cosmetic issue but it could have been done 2 years ago! Angry

Yeah i think the dentist was implying i was being shallow Angry
