If a thread has multiple pages....

And you can’t be bothered to read every single post, then for gods sake at least press see all for the OP’s post.

It can be found at the top of the thread or at the end of one of their posts

Stop repeating the same bullshit stuff because you haven’t read everything the OP says Angry

You can also change the settings so all posts are on one page - makes it much easier to skim through and see if the thread has moved on without having to read everything.

optimistic40 · 24/02/2021 16:13

Can you do that on the app though?

I'm fairly sure that only posters who've had their accounts for quite a long time can do that these days. It changed a few years ago and newer MNers can only see threads in pages.

I don't know about the app, I don't use it.

@Soubriquet I couldn't agree more. It's so annoying.

Yeah you can
Bedforme · 24/02/2021 16:18

Agree read all OPs post carefully particularly if you are going to ask a question to make sure it has not already been answered. Otherwise I think repeating an answer is fine - it shows that it isn’t just one or two posters that agree/disagree/would suggest certain action.

Yeah I agree, if the OP is looking for opinions, surely if loads of people think the same thing, it's good for the OP to hear that?
Soubriquet · 24/02/2021 16:25

Yes apart from when it’s a snidey answer that was already cleared up by the OP

OP posts:
GeordieGreigsButtButtZoom · 24/02/2021 16:27

I think echoing a sentiment or opinion is fine because, as people say, it gives a better idea of the consensus. It is a bit irritating when there is a slew of answers that haven't taken an update into account when it matters.

There was a thread a while ago by an OP who had lost her high powered job due to Covid and was struggling with the idea of working in a supermarket. In an additional post, she confirmed that she had been offered the supermarket job, was accepting it and would put it on her CV. It didn't stop post after post after post insulting her for being a terrible human being who probably wouldn't get the job anyway and was only showing her conceit by assuming that she would.

It got very tiresome.

SparkysMagicPiano · 24/02/2021 16:36

It would also be helpful if people actually used the "last page" button to go to the end of the thread before posting their comment. This would at least give them a sense of how the thread has evolved, and they might even be mmore likely to notice the word ZOMBIE (where applicable).

The fact that you can post a reply at the bottom of page one without looking at the most recent posts 7 pages later is not helpful.

You can also change the settings so all posts are on one page

Not everyone has the option to do this.
I can have 100 posts per page and I use a laptop not the app.

HugeAckmansWife · 24/02/2021 16:39

agree - especially now you can read all the OPs posts so easily. The one yesterday about the husband being pissed off because he wasn't greeted at the door. Ten pages in or so people were STILL making wrong assumptions about various things because they hadn't bothered to read updates.

RevolutionRadio · 24/02/2021 16:39

You can't on the Android app

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 24/02/2021 16:51

Android app doesn't let you do much, so not easy to read all of the OP posts other than scrolling

WingingItSince1973 · 25/02/2021 00:05

Yep android app is frustrating and very basic xxx
