My dd is 13 and she is being a nightmare, she has been attending every online lesson but done no work. When I asked her why she said because its boring.
She is lazy in every way and not motivated. I know online learning and not going to school has made this worse but even when she is at school she makes no effort and doesn't work hard.
So I took away her phone etc.
She then did some work and told me everything was submitted so I gave her phone etc back.
I asked her to give her phone and laptop to me at 9pm, she didn't, I asked her many times to give them as she is not allowed them in her room at night. She kept ignoring me and then I went and took them.
When I looked at her laptop she had messages from her boyfriend from school on an app called discord. They were messaging during lesson time and the language from him was too sexual for their age, he was saying sexual things he would do to her, dd was just replying saying things like yes and ohhh so she wasn't actually using sexual language.
I asked her about it and asked who the messages were from (as on the app it's not the persons real name) she wouldn't tell me who it was but did tell me today.
I have taken her things away again, this isn't the first time there has been language like this from this boy.
DD is just very rude about everything and says she doesn't care etc.
I don't know what to do with her as I feel like keeping her phone etc as she isn't using them responsibility but also I don't want her to be bored and lonely.
I honestly don't know what to do for the best! I'm really struggling with dd right now.
