I have just received a letter from the Department of health & social care informing me that I am CEV. Apparently the government have identified new people who are at risk of seriously becoming unwell.

I don't think I am. I have an underactive thyroid & I'm on anti depressants. I can't see why that would put me at more risk.

Aibu to think this letter was sent by mistake?

Or do I follow the guidance of shielding?

There's a few threads on this. Did you ever have gestational diabetes?

LemonadeBudget · 23/02/2021 11:44

I think an extra 1.7 million have been told to shield, but as with the original group, it is guidance not law.

HmmmHmmmm · 23/02/2021 11:47

@dementedpixie Yes I did! That could be why.

@lemonadeBudget You're right, it isn't law. I am a key worker so can't stop working anyway.

I get the impression it’s a bit scattergun - I’d book an appt with your GP to assess I’d really necessary. Or just ignore it if you know it’s picking up on an old/no longer relevant condition.

Well I have an underactive thyroid and take antidepressants so wonder if I'll get one? I understand it that it's a way of bumping yiu up the vaccine list? I have had my first vaccine so maybe that why I haven't hot one?

As pp's have said it seems quite scatter gun.

I got a letter and have also had my first jab, so I don't think it's that. I'm just planning on ordering shopping online as I've been working from home since last March anyway.
