To paint wooden photo frames with matt emulsion paint?

I want some photo frames in a certain colour but haven't been able to find any online. A friend suggested I buy some plain wooden frames and paint them using a tester pot of Dulux Trade Diamond Matt that I have in the correct colour. Will this work ok, or should I use gloss or some other paint type? (For the avoidance of doubt, I don't want a "distressed" look).

It works fine. I've done several. Clear wax afterwards to seal.

No need for wax, I’ve done loads with just emulsion.

I did all mine it in the summer with Matt emulsion. I didn't seal them either

Well that’s certainly the typical AIBU response Grin
