I want to look online, not on an app!

i want to check my balance, using my pc, with Virgin, but you cant now. Why on earth have they done this, what about people who dont have smart phones/space on their phone for another app/dont want the app

That would annoy me. I have the barclays app but if any other site I use tells me to download an app I cant as I've no space on my phone

and you can only have the app on 1 device

If they can only be bothered to support one or the other they should support the online access as that’s accessible to the most people. Anyone who can use an app has a smart phone/tablet with internet access and could therefore use a website. But not everyone who logs in online has a device they could use an app on.

I’m perfectly capable of using apps (and do for some things) but prefer to do most things on the actual website rather than have a dozen apps for different companies.

That is really rubbish - (a) it's much easier to look on a larger screen - ie a laptop and (b) not everyone has a smartphone (my DH is one of them!)

I've had to revert to using HSBC online as I needed a password reset and it's impossible to get through to HSBC on the phone (which is the only option they offer), I'd be in real trouble if it was app only.

I noticed this a couple of weeks ago, a message came up saying it was happening by a certain date. No real explanation
The app doesn’t bother me on the day to day but sometimes you need the main site. I can’t seeing the app having the full functionality
