@DGRossetti

The drugs peddled in that were diluted, and that is the very last thing needed instead of covid vaccine

Even if Kushner's moral compass prevent him from flogging hooky vaccines, I suspect those of anyone buying from him might not.

I can already hear the sales pitch on the darkweb ...

Anyone want to buy 40million vaccines ?

And that's before you consider that a lot of people in the US might view flogging ineffective if not fake vaccines (many times over, since the buyers are hardly going to complain) to muslim countries as a positively good thing.

Covid does not respect national boundaries, so a stupider thing to do than encourage mutations in such a way would be hard to imagine.

Oh, oops, we're talking about Kushner, aren't we.

As you were....

Well, yes. But Covid appears to have made a lot of people quite dim - not that many needed an excuse.

Shock
EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 26/02/2021 17:45

Depressing and terrifyingly predictable.
You all saw the gold Trump statue right?

AcrossthePond55 · 26/02/2021 18:15

@Caramelwhispers

Do you think Kuschner flogged the missing vaccines to the highest bidder? He's got contacts all over the world, Russia, Europe, Middle East, Saudi, Israel. Anywhere dodgy enough really would be willing to pay top dollar to get hold of vaccines earlier than everyone else.
Here's more information on the missing doses:

www.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/feb/01/ryan-fournier/biden-administration-didnt-lose-20-million-covid-1/

From the article:

After Biden was sworn in, Politico reported, his COVID-19 response team discovered that the distribution system established by the Trump administration failed to track the full route the vaccines traveled once they left the federal government’s storage spaces. As a result, there was a large gap between the number of vaccines that had been sent out by the federal government and the number that had actually been administered.

Could it have been Kushner? Wouldn't surprise me. But how steal that massive amount without leaving a trail of some kind? Plus with the fragility and freezer temp requirements I'd think it would be hard to move that massive amount from place to place, even if broken up into smaller shipments. I also think it's more likely that they 'bigged up' the number of vaccines shipped to start with and the 20 mil that are missing were never shipped (or even existed) in the first place. It would have been a typical Trump campaign stunt to lie to make it look as if they were 'saving the US' with massive shipments. They probably assumed they were going to win the election and their lie would never have been investigated.

Thymeout · 26/02/2021 18:30

I remember when questions were raised about how Israel managed to get so many doses of vaccine compared with other countries. The answer was that Bidi rang Pfizer multiple times a day. Pfizer and who else, I wonder? I note also that we're using Israeli research to determine long-term efficacy of vaccines, implying that they they did have a head-start on other countries.

I don't know if anyone else listens to LBC. Their regular US correspondent, Simon Marks, did a knockout job with today's weekly round-up on the Eddie Mair show. USA and UK planets apart on vaccine roll-out. Worth a listen.

Bingo full house already and still got Doofus to come!

As some of the commentator's on the Twitter thread asked - "who thought 'Back to the Future' style time travel was possible?" CPAC is reliving 2016 before our very eyes.

As for Ted Cruz - he's desperate to wear "the king's crown" isn't he? What an utter twat.

www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/02/the-republican-party-is-now-in-its-end-stages/618132/

Ironically, the GOP is indeed replicating another political party in another time, but not as the heroes they imagine themselves to be. The Republican Party has become, in form if not in content, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union of the late 1970s.

I can already hear the howls about invidious comparisons. I do not mean that modern American Republicans are communists. Rather, I mean that the Republicans have entered their own kind of end-stage Bolshevism, as members of a party that is now exhausted by its failures, cynical about its own ideology, authoritarian by reflex, controlled as a personality cult by a failing old man, and looking for new adventures to rejuvenate its fortunes

The Republican Party has, for years, ignored the ideas and principles it once espoused, to the point where the 2020 GOP convention simply dispensed with the fiction of a platform and instead declared the party to be whatever Comrade—excuse me, President—Donald Trump said it was.

Another lesson from all this history is that the Republicans have no path to reform. Like their Soviet counterparts, their party is too far gone. Gorbachev tried to reform the Soviet Communist Party, and he remains reviled among the Soviet faithful to this day. Similar efforts by the remaining handful of reasonable Republicans are unlikely to fare any better. The Republican Party, to take a phrase from the early Soviet leader Leon Trotsky, should now be deposited where it belongs: in the “dustbin of history.”

Youre right i didn't have the Meppershall o my bingo card

Mocking the left, Donald Trump Jr. said, "This month alone, they've banned The Muppets. And then if there's things you thought were sort of above cancellation, you would be wrong. There is nothing the radical left won't cancel."

For some reason this really makes me laugh.
He's talking about the Muppets like they are a protected species Grin

Noooooooo, not the muppets. How can we all go on with our lives without the muppets. Grin

minou123 · 27/02/2021 08:40
  • Meppershall Wtf, how did my phone come up with that??!!! I meant The Muppets
DGRossetti · 27/02/2021 08:44

The Republican Party has become, in form if not in content, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union of the late 1970s.

Which eventually just ran out of the old guard after a brief time of a new week a new premier (anyone recall the TV Show "Whoops Apocalypse" ?). Thanks to WW2 and Stalins purges we got Gorbachev

Roussette · 27/02/2021 08:46

The Muppets thing made me giggle. How refreshing it is to not have to listen to the daily trumpy lies. Course it hasn't been banned.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 27/02/2021 09:37

How could Biden ban the Muppets? I do wish this Trump stupidity wasn't still going on despite the election, but I suppose as long as right-wing nitwits insist the election was "stolen" (so actually, mateys, if you join the dots, that must mean that Hillary's election was "stolen" so Trump was never elected in the first place, doh!), we still have to put up with this nonsense. But I agree, it is generally wonderful to wake up and not wonder what new atrocity has been committed in the name of insanity Trump. My solution for keeping calm these days is to completely ignore Brexit. As I no longer live in the desert, I am finding it much harder to keep my head buried in the sand, though!
