thehill.com/homenews/house/544009-democrat-introduces-resolution-to-expel-greene

Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.) on Friday formally introduced a resolution to expel Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) from Congress over her past indications of support for violence against prominent Democrats.

EpiphanySoul1 · 19/03/2021 16:56

Sorry to jump onto the thread. I used to follow in the trump era but was enjoying not having to care about US politics once Biden was elected!

However I just saw a horrible video of him repeatedly falling up the steps to Air Force One. He falls multiple times and no one seems to be there to help him up. It was awful. I mean he is elderly. Why can’t he get help with things like that instead of being left to it himself. Being physically weaker doesn’t say anything about his mental state so why not have assistance.

Roussette · 19/03/2021 17:10

I've seen the video. I'm staying away from Twitter because the comments will be awful.
But no different to Trumpy and his gingerly walking down slopes or walking up airplane steps with bog roll stuck to his shoe.

Epiphany Agree with your first para.
It's so good to have the right man at the right time.

EpiphanySoul1 · 19/03/2021 17:19

@Roussette I just can’t believe someone didn’t run up and help him. I mean he is elderly. If I saw my dad fall like that I’d be over like a shot to help and be concerned. They just let him fumble his way up Sad it doesn’t reflect on his mental agility so why not give him an assist! I’ve nearly fallen down plane steps myself sometimes if it’s windy.

I got rid of Twitter so this is the only place I can go to talk about it hence my jumping on!

Roussette · 19/03/2021 17:23

Yes, but I suppose it happened so quickly and he was walking back up as they went to do that.

Smile

DGRossetti · 19/03/2021 17:29

I just can’t believe someone didn’t run up and help him.

You really, really, really don't want to be making too many sudden moves around POTUS.

EpiphanySoul1 · 19/03/2021 17:31

True @Roussette and hopefully no need for concern. From what I have read he is doing a good job so far! Well on track to reach their vaccination target a month early which is impressive.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/03/2021 17:57

@Roussette

Yes, but I suppose it happened so quickly and he was walking back up as they went to do that. Smile
I think, judging by the way he was walking as he went into the plane, that he had twisted his left leg slightly, which would explain why when he put weight on it normally straight after he first slipped, it gave way again.

Gosh, what a headline, eh? Elderly man slips, recovers, continues as normal.... Hold the front page!

DuncinToffee · 19/03/2021 18:02

Gosh, what a headline, eh? Elderly man slips, recovers, continues as normal.... Hold the front page!

Fox will be dining out on this for weeks to come.

Roussette · 19/03/2021 18:03

Oh yes they will.

The toilet paper stuck to Trumpy's shoe whilst walking up the steps was far more fun than this!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/03/2021 18:04

Of course they will. Let us be grateful that it didn't happen last October, remembering how catching flu and not taking to her bed for ten days made Hillary Clinton unfit to be president in some people's minds.

DuncinToffee · 19/03/2021 18:18

Kamala Harris as president does seem to scare the hell out of the Twitterati Grin

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 19/03/2021 18:37

Very excited to see some momentum on expelling Marjorie Taylor Greene...

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 19/03/2021 18:39

Also did we already mention the shitfest of a film that Steve Mnuchin’s wife has made?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9256993/Steve-Mnuchins-wife-Louise-Linton-40-panned-critics-new-movie-Madness.html

Roussette · 19/03/2021 18:46

Oh yes... I saw stuff about that film when they were first touting it.

It sounded like a complete lemon.

Blueberries0112 · 19/03/2021 19:52

He had pointed out he stutters for years and perhaps dyslexic in a different way like I do (I will be thinking of a word but type it out differently) no big deal

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 19/03/2021 19:53

I'm sorry if this has already been posted here, I've had a quick look at the last couple of pages and can't find it. I keep looking at the headline and I can't stop laughing:

QAnon Followers Say White House's St. Patrick's Day Lighting Was 'Go' Message

These people are completely off their trolleys. But you already knew that.

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 19/03/2021 19:57

The trailer for the horrific Linton film is here

I mean, it’s so bad it actually looks like a piss take.

Thymeout · 19/03/2021 21:23

Re the plane mishap, it's not that long since JB broke his foot playing with one of the dogs.

I noticed that Melania took to wearing her coat draped over her shoulders when she got fed up with having her hand grabbed when the previous president was coming down the steps of Airforce One.

Isn't it overkill to get vaccinated after he's had the virus?

AcrossthePond55 · 20/03/2021 20:39

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime

Isn't it overkill to get vaccinated after he's had the virus?
Not really. The last I heard the CDC is telling people who've had covid to get vaccinated. I think because at this point they don't know how long the immunity you get from having covid lasts.
AcrossthePond55 · 20/03/2021 20:42

www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/facts.html

"If I have already had COVID-19 and recovered, do I still need to get vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine?

Yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19. That’s because experts do not yet know how long you are protected from getting sick again after recovering from COVID-19. Even if you have already recovered from COVID-19, it is possible—although rare—that you could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 again. Learn more about why getting vaccinated is a safer way to build protection than getting infected.

If you were treated for COVID-19 with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma, you should wait 90 days before getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Talk to your doctor if you are unsure what treatments you received or if you have more questions about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.

Experts are still learning more about how long vaccines protect against COVID-19 in real-world conditions. CDC will keep the public informed as new evidence becomes available."
