To be mean about Peppa Pig

Is it just me or do others think Peppa Pig is just a rude, stroppy, arrogant little pig? I find myself muttering insults under my breath when it's on...anyone else? Lighthearted!

I admit I do enjoy watching Hey Duggee. The mice crack me up. Cool little dudes.

Peppa and her family are just the worst. I fucking hate the obnoxious, spoilt, oinking little shit. Complete brat. The accents they try to do are just embarrassing too.

littlepeas · 21/02/2021 20:02

My dd (too old for peppa pig) showed me this yesterday:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=bk5_fN4Ut0M

Sums Peppa up fairly well, I thought!

Ostryga · 21/02/2021 20:03

Peppa is banned here. Massive fans of Ben and Holly though!

ListenLinda · 21/02/2021 20:03

@MaMaD1990 hey duggee is the best! A woof!

In the same league as Peppa Pig, also hate the stupid mayor from Paw Patrol, Bing fucking Bunny & Norman from Fireman Sam!
Gah. Can’t wait until they grow out of childrens TV

stealthbanana · 21/02/2021 20:05

I love Peppa. She just seems like a toddler to me, I don’t really get why people think she’s so bratty. My son bosses around his little sister in the same way. I think it’s charming and hits all the right buttons in terms of what kids think about at that age, with a few winks to the adults as well.

TinkleyZebra · 21/02/2021 20:06

I find Bing a bit odd. I theorised that Flop doesn’t actually exist and instead is a physical manifestation of Bing’s mental anguish but I can’t be arsed to watch every episode to see if my hypothesis holds water.

littlepeas · 21/02/2021 20:06

There’s loads of rehashed peppa pig on YouTube - some of it is sweaty!

ememem84 · 21/02/2021 20:09

@PumpkinsMum18

I find peppa pig quite funny but I agree she is very rude like telling George he can’t do things etc

I find Bing VERY strange! What is flop?! His dad? Imaginary friend?! Why does the other one Sula have a similar weird mum/thing?! Wtf is going on?!! 🤯

Apparently flop and Sumas thing are their carers. Because not everyone has a mum and a dad.

I fucking hate bing bunny. He always pisses his pants and is a right crybaby twat face.

fatisnotafeeling · 21/02/2021 20:10

Oh my yes, peppa pig is a bratty twat.

I have 4 DC when DD1 was young it wasn't about but when DD2 and DS1 were young it was on all the time. I thought those days were over as they are now 10 and 8 but nope we've had another DS and he's 10 months. I refuse to put peppa on and have said it's banned.

He is addicted to BING though and I just can't work it out, who is flop ? Why is he smaller then Bing, why do they all have what seems to be soft toys as carers. I am totally confused by the whole situation.

ememem84 · 21/02/2021 20:11

I also can’t stand fireman Sam.

Love a bit of hey duggee though! Aaaa wooooof.

Peppa does my nut. I thought we were over her as ds 3 started liking paw patrol. But Dd 18m loves a bit of peppa.

MessAllOver · 21/02/2021 20:16

She's very...encouraged, isn't she? I wouldn't say that I'm of the "children should be seen and not heard" brigade, but imo a lot of what she says should be greeted with a "not now, Peppa" or "If you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all". Instead, she gets her parents' rapt attention and 100% engagement at all times. Helicopter parenting at its worst.

MaizeBlouse · 21/02/2021 20:21

For all those questioning Flop, I give you this: theyruinyourlife.com/2016/03/03/an-open-letter-to-flop/

A friend sent it to me a few years ago and I still laugh thinking about it now.

I quite like Duggee.

Though I reallllly like Sarah and Duck. In fact, I would probably watch it without my little one 😆

EduardoStobarto · 21/02/2021 20:26

Peppa is annoying and spoilt but Hey Duggee is brilliant! The music is fab, he has an unfortunate silhouette though...🤣

MaMaD1990 · 21/02/2021 20:31

Hahaha! Howling at Duggee's silhouette!

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 21/02/2021 20:41

😂😂😂😂 some of these comments!

Totally agree - she is rude and stroppy

I cannot stand Bing! He is even more rude and SO spoilt!

Poppins2016 · 21/02/2021 20:46

Another vote for Bing Bunny being far worse than Peppa Pig! Bing is so spoilt (and enabled in being so). The adult carers are so passive! I can't stand Bing Bunny.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 21/02/2021 20:46

Hate Octonaughts too and so does DD; if I dare to sneak in the shower while she's in the bedroom watching TV and she hears the intro for them 🙈

Viviennemary · 21/02/2021 20:48

Better than some. Pingu was the worst ever. And the Teletubbies were horrendous. Peppa is nothing like as bad.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 21/02/2021 20:56

Whining. It's a Bing thing!

Tianatiers · 21/02/2021 21:00

I actually quite like Peppa Pig and find it quite amusing. It's Bing I can't stand. Flop, I imagine is like his teddy /comforter that Bing imagines is alive and looking after him. Flop is so patient and kind, he must be a figment of Bing's imagination, that's the only explanation.

IsThisNews · 21/02/2021 21:08

Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig are clearly in a loveless marriage. I don't think she even likes him anymore.

Whineandwine · 21/02/2021 21:10

Can’t stand Peppa, I always wondered what mummy pig was on when she was pregnant to produce such odd looking kids: twig arms and goggly eyes. And why is it ok that Miss Rabbit has to work half dozen low paid jobs whilst everyone else has white collar jobs - it’s some kind of screwed up capitalist state where one working class person keeps all the bourgeoisie comfortable. Also why are the frogs and hedgehogs not characters but a bloody potato is?!!! Sorry, Peppa rant over now.

MessAllOver · 21/02/2021 21:10

@IsThisNews. I agree. Mummy Pig clearly carries the mental load for the family. Daddy Pig doesn't even know what day it is sometimes.
