Apologies for posting on AIBU but I wanted to use the voting function

If you got COVID, had you been breaking the rules before you caught it?

No need to comment if you dont wish to, just interested in the numbers

YABU I had broken the rules
YANBU I hadn't broken the rules

I got it from dh who was working in the NHS, but no, no rule breaking here.

montymum · 21/02/2021 21:40

Following all the rules. I likely caught it in my classroom as a primary school teacher. My husband and 3 children also caught it.

Bolshybun · 21/02/2021 21:40

My husband caught it, he can’t do his job from home. Our children and I soon followed.

dingoesatemybaby · 21/02/2021 21:41

No. I have no idea how I got it tbh. Hadn't been anywhere other than work for about two weeks and at work I am in an office completely alone and lucky to see another person all day.

DC were at school though so could have picked it up there but I got symptoms first. Though thy doesn't necessarily mean I caught it first I suppose. My incubation period could have been shorter.

Got it before any rules were even invented.

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/02/2021 21:47

The people I know you've got it, about half and half on the rules. But the voting is always going to be skewed because of self report. I bet my relatives say they were following the rules. They weren't.

I tested positive on Christmas Eve. Despite spending the previous 5 months swabbing hospital patients for covid multiple times per day, I'm fairly sure I caught it in a crowded supermarket buying my Christmas turkey.

I was following all the rules, PPE, distancing and sanitizing at work, minimal visits to shops, and I live alone.

I was pretty ill, and although I managed to cook Christmas dinner, I couldn't taste the bloody turkey!

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/02/2021 21:48

who've

FourOnTheHill · 23/02/2021 08:03

NeverDropYourMoonCup that’s similar to me. Nearly all the children DH and I work with were skiing in northern Italy a year ago. We caught covid shortly after that. Tried to follow good hand hygiene and keep out of people’s way as I knew I’d catch it but there were no rules then

scoutingfornarwhals · 24/02/2021 21:00

Two members of my family have died from covid this week so rule breakers can piss off.
