to be annoyed at the neighbour's DS letting off fireworks in our courtyard

after I asked them yesterday not to.

We live in a semi in a large courtyard/cul de sac and the friends of our neighbours DS were in the courtyard yesterday letting off fireworks. I asked them to stop as there are often young children outside. They were a bit cheeky but went away soon after.

My DCs just went outside to play. The courtyard is full of spent fireworks. Little ones, like catherines wheel ones but ones that go on the ground.

I am fuming as some of them obviously did not go off and my DD came wandering over with one in her hand. I told the DCs not to touch them and have just gone around collecting them.

Our neighbours are out at the moment but I will speak to them when they get back.

The friend of the neighbours DS said yesterday that it was just a bit of fun but I feel that they are dangerous and they should go elsewhere with them.

We are in Germany btw, so no Guy Fawkes night. Don't know where they got hold of them tbh as they are not normally sold this time of year.

I used to like fireworks as a kid, but maybe i'm just getting cynical as i'm getting older! this year particularly i'm already p**d off with it all and it isn't even fireworks night. I can't believe that each year we celebrate a tradition with explosives!!!! Last night we were suspiciously eying a neighbours fireworks that seemed to be drifting our way a lot and I heard a fire enging (it wasn't for our neighbours!!) it just reminded me what a dangerous time of year it is! I think fireworks are noisy and dangerous and although some people use them safely they aren't for everyone. I don't think your being unreasonable. Post them through their letterbox! (the spent ones that is!!!)

oops, I mean engine!

Just spoke to the neighbours. The boys setting off the fireworks are not even friends of theirs, they just keep turning up and hanging around their door. The dad said they ask if their DS1 is coming out (he is about 17 I think and has SN) When he goes out they pick on him and call him thick. Poor lad.

They have 3 boys, 2 SN and one G&T and I think that they find them rather difficult to deal with.

Now I know that the firework lads were not friends of our neighbours, I will not hesitate to go out and send them off. Perhaps I will ask our 6ft tall built like a brick s*house neighbour to have a word with them!

Sounds like a good idea. Very sad about the way these kids treat their son.
