Does anyone know the maternity policy in further education?

I am looking at applying for a job at a local college - but I am trying to work out what their maternity policy might be like and cannot find any information anywhere and don't feel like I can ask them!

Someone told me FE follows the "burgundy book" so is that first six weeks at full pay, twelve weeks at half pay then no pay for the rest?

You wouldn't have no pay after 18 weeks, the minimum would be statutory at that point.

I work in HE and presume FE would be similar. I had 6 weeks full pay, 12 weeks half pay and 18 weeks SMP. I took a year off so had 4 months with no pay.

Depends entirely on the College but they are not usually generous. The examples above seem about standard IMO but it does depend on the College's own OSP scheme rather than a blanket approach for all Colleges.

First six weeks either full or 90%. Next 12 weeks 50% plus SMP. Then SMP only up until 39 weeks.

Do check with the college though.
