Is it acceptable or normal?

I'm obviously meeting the wrong men...

talulasmum · 02/11/2007 22:46

i think its been going on for about 20 years. maybe longer.

themoon66 · 02/11/2007 22:47

I've noticed quite a few. Never really thought anything of it to be honest.

talulasmum · 02/11/2007 22:54

piercings are sooooo passe these days. where did you see this person. a little village in somerset.

nappyaddict · 02/11/2007 23:48

loads of my male friends have got it done. apparently it's better than one

FireworksInMyLuckyUnderpants · 03/11/2007 00:09

im not fussy, ill take a man with both ears pierced these days

if its ok for a woman to do it then why cant men? i dont see a problem with it, and it wouldnt bother me in the slightest.

RosaTransylvania · 03/11/2007 00:40

DH nearly fainted when he had the first one done so no chance of him getting up to speed with current fashion and going back for the second.
I had an amusing moment with DD1 in the summer though as various underdressed men were showing off their manly chests in the high street. She turned to me in horror and said very loudly: 'Mummy, that man has pierced his NIPPLES.'

PixieAndDixie · 03/11/2007 09:35

Peircings of all kinds are revolting especially on men or babies/children.

Did anyone hear about that young woman that had a bellybutton peircing it was on the news last week. Anyway she was driving her car which crashed and the earing ended up in her stomach she needed a 3 hour operation to remove it.

Why do some men women have their nipples peirced or their private parts? ewwwwwwwww.

smeeinit · 03/11/2007 09:47

a bit gay??? explain??

unknownrebelbang · 03/11/2007 09:48

oh God, who cares?

paulaplumpbottom · 03/11/2007 09:49

I wouldn't say its a bit "gay" but it is tacky. I like clean cut well groomed men

morningpaper · 03/11/2007 09:50

I think it looks a bit effeminate

You have to be extremely manly to carry it off in a manly way

professorplum · 03/11/2007 09:57

Wasn't 1 earing on a certain side a gay symbol in the 80s, like the hanky in the back pocket? Don't think this really applies now.

Sheherazadethegoat · 03/11/2007 09:59

'abit gay', that is a fairly shite way to express your distaste. furthermore most gay men i know wouldn't be seen dead with both ears pierced.

I do think a pierced knob looks a bit gay

And pierced nipples

By which I mean it looks like a tool best wielded by a homosexual for the aesthetic approval of other homosexuals

I don't know why straight men do these things

DH once asked me if I'd like him to pierce his manhood for christmas

I told him he'd been working in the social sector for too long

Yummers · 03/11/2007 10:09

depends on the guy - if he's a sexy pirate type it's alright by me. otherwise no.

morningpaper · 03/11/2007 10:12

I'm not sure I've ever gone for the Sexy Pirate Type

I'm not quite sure who falls into this category

serenity · 03/11/2007 10:14

thanks for saying that, saves me doing it and having to put loads of 's in my post

nappyaddict · 03/11/2007 16:11

it's all down to personal taste isn't it really. i quite like one earring, not as keen on 2 or eyebrow piercings but it can look ok on the right sort of person.
