she hates to use it, describing it as lumpy. it is great for eczema or dry skin, made of blended lemon skin, oats. is very kind and gentle to skin compared to bubbling soaps esp those with artificial fragrances, colours, etc. she was like sobbing with crocodile tears afterwards, should l just let her use the bubbling soaps?

Jesus! I have eczema. For the love of good just use something like the Simple range. Don't put anything with lemon on her poor skin. Seriously hoping this isn't real.

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 16/02/2021 23:37

I predict that OP won’t be back...

Scarlettpixie · 16/02/2021 23:37

WTF? Yabu.

Lemon is not gentle on skin.

Let her choose her own products and help her choose more naurural ones if you like but give her a break!

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 16/02/2021 23:37

Also she only needs that when wearing make up. Which at 11 I would assume that she doesn't. A flannel and warm water is sufficient otherwise, no soap, just warm water.

rawalpindithelabrador · 16/02/2021 23:41

Lemon on your face near your eyes?! FFS. That's cruel. Child's Farm products really good.

Whatwouldscullydo · 16/02/2021 23:44

Jesus! I have eczema. For the love of good just use something like the Simple range

Even simple can he quote harsh tbh think.it contains SLS.

Eczema such a bloody pain with kids, u want to give them the freedom other kids have , like face washes and bubble.bath and fancy shower gel but u can't. While everyones enjoying bath.bombs you r stuck there with oats...

U spend alot of time being the bad guy whilst they seem to forget the antibiotics they got stuck on.last time...

imalmostthere · 16/02/2021 23:47

Yabu for thinking it's a good idea to put LEMON on sensitive skin - and then acting like you're some kind of skincare guru. Let her use whatever she wants, and stop concocting rubbish when you can go to boots and buy something less crap.

HelloDulling · 16/02/2021 23:51

I don’t know what bubbling soap is, but no one should be using soap on their face. Try the Superdrug Vit E cleansing balm and a flannel.

Lolwhat · 16/02/2021 23:53

No! You shouldn’t put home made crap on your face, definitely not lemon!!

HaveringWavering · 16/02/2021 23:57

@Phoenix76

I don’t know why op but the word impose gave me the shudders, it’s almost like it belongs in a dictatorship rather than home. That aside, is there nothing her gp can prescribe? If you haven’t already I’d be seeking their advice, my lovely friend’s dd has really bad eczema causing her horrific discomfort with the wounds getting infected and her gp prescribed a combination of topical medication which has proved extremely effective.
OP’s first language is clearly not English, that will be the reason for “impose” and the slightly odd “bubbling soap” expression.
CorianderBee · 16/02/2021 23:59

Get her a proper oil or balm cleanser. I have eczema, don't fuck around with home made stuff or you'll make it worse.

CorianderBee · 17/02/2021 00:00

Inkey list do an oat balm one which is cheap and doesn't irritate me at all

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 17/02/2021 00:01

Lemon peel on sensitive skin?
FFS - no wonder she hates it.
Go to boots/superdrug/whatever, together (or look online together, better as you can see reviews), help her choose a cleanser for sensitive skin.
As in she chooses, you just need to veto any unicorn coloured superbubble crap.

CecilyP · 17/02/2021 00:06

Mn always recommends oats in the bath.

I’ve heard it recommended for chicken pox to help sooth the itching. I’ve also used it myself for itchy insect bites. As a former eczema sufferer, I can’t think of anything worse than lemon and oatmeal to put on the skin. It is the polar opposite of kind and gentle. It might be helpful for really oily skin but eczema prone skin is dry. Washing her face with warm water is all that is needed.

Bluntasduck · 17/02/2021 00:07

This is such an obvious Wind them up and watch them go

CandyLeBonBon · 17/02/2021 00:07
Confused
CandyLeBonBon · 17/02/2021 00:08

Or put another way: stop being a twat!

RootyT00t · 17/02/2021 00:08

Lemon??????

Jesus Christ.

Let the kid use what she wants.

daisyjgrey · 17/02/2021 00:09

Cerave, and then leave her alone ffs.

RootyT00t · 17/02/2021 00:09

OP, my dog cries when I kick him in the face. He prefers cuddles from my DP.

Should I let DP cuddle him?

Reinventinganna · 17/02/2021 00:10

Impose?

Yabu and borderline abusive.

TheFormidableMrsC · 17/02/2021 00:10

What am I reading? 👀

RAOK · 17/02/2021 00:10

I have severe eczema and use Avene gentle cleanser. It’s one of the best I’ve found. It’s not too expensive from Boots (c£10 and often on 3 for 2) and it looks and smells nice.

Ostryga · 17/02/2021 00:11

Well first off you have no idea what you’re doing because lemon peel and the oils in are horrific for skin.

Stop being a dick and buy your child decent cleanser for sensitive skin.
