To ask for the money?

My friend asked me to buy a printer for her, as she is shielding and I'm not. So I did, it was £35. At the time (a month ago) she said she would transfer the money, she asked for my bank details. Since then she's mentioned she will pay a few times (unprompted by me) but hasn't done so.

Aibu to ask for the money? Or petty? Just to add, I have bought plenty of 'smaller' items for her since the pandemic started and never asked for the money. But I did ask for the money for this as £35 is a chunk. She's also asked me to buy more items now for similar amounts.

She is short on cash but spends a lot on clothes orders etc, so it is well within her budget to pay for this.

Why couldn’t she order online like everyone else?

Send her a text with your bank details on and ask for the money to be paid. Don’t order her anything else and don’t offer to go shopping for her.

Some people are just like this - I gave a friend of mine a nice piece of furniture a couple of months ago - she said "Do I owe you anything? " ( I have given her a whole load of things before - up to about £2000 - and not asked for anything - she is v well off - I might have expected a token thing) In this instance I said " you decide & send me a token for X - X being a place I could spend it not an amount - her choice ." Not a peep .Oh except a photo of the furniture in her house . Ha ha some people take the piss or just think - ha ha - I have got something for nothing - well done me.
