I don’t think I’m BU, but friends and in laws all seem to think I’m putting my 18 month old to bed way too earlyHmm The constant little comments are just getting irritating now.

Is this too early for an 18 month old or just about right?

My brother and sil are big on early bedtimes which is great if that works for them, but they are always constantly moaning about the dc being early risers. Well, d'uh. If you prefer later mornings you have to take later bedtimes; if earlier bedtimes are your preference then you have to accept earlier morning waking. It's not difficult to work out! I always preferred a bit of a later bedtime and not getting up at the crack of dawn because I hate mornings with a deep and abiding passion.

My son went to bed at 7pm until he was about 5. He's 7 now and still in bed by 8pm...

My two always went to bed at 630 until they started school. They ised to have to get up quite early to go to nursery so were knackered by 6. As long as it works for you, do it! I used to love my evenings - they are 10 and 14 now and are up later than me some nights....
