My son has started doing digital art - basically he is taking photos of local landmarks and putting his own spin on them adding different filters. This is only one of the versions he has created. If this was a landmark local to you would you buy a print?

No but it looks like the sort of artwork and scenery that appears in computer games. Could there be a career in that for him?

But hey much better use of time than gaming!

You would think that but gaming develops lots of good skills and... My brother's friend actually makes a living competing. There are legit tournaments, sponsorships etc. It's a sport

No sorry, no talent required... I could do that myself. If it were a painting then maybe

The most significant factor no one up thread has so far raised is that - anything digital means technically it can be relatively easily reproduced or instantly copied and hence reducing its unique qualities etc.

Plus also I don't think the original poster has mentioned the age range of the artist. If this was created by a very young tech and art savvy child then that would give added kudos as say it was designed by a five to eight year old learning more about art and computer literacy etc. This would be seen in a very different light. If this was done by an adult then ok it's not so significant. Just being frank if that's the point of this thread rather than pretending something is the next Mona Lisa etc.
