So I was watching nightmare tenants slum landlords this afternoon and I was shocked at how awful both sides can be... then I thought I bet Mumsnet have some wild stories!!!

Aunt had a tenant who dissappeared for months owing rent and all sorts. The tenant had left behind all furniture and some possessions.

My aunt had enough and put the property up for sale, so I moved in whilst it was being sold.

A few months later, the old tenant turned up with a van to collect his furniture and possessions! He'd been in his home country for the last 9 months, not paying rent for 12 and completely uncontactable.

Took him 3 hours to be convinced that we weren't opening the door and he wasn't getting any of it back, mainly because most of it was skipped!

sneakysnooper would be fine as my tenant. All I ask is rent paid, place not destroyed, problems reported and access given (with notice) to fix them, no smoking, considerate no neighbours and no drug dealing.

don't care if there are piles of stuff everywhere and if the washing up is done once a week or less. As long as it is all sorted before the tenant leaves.
