Recruiter wants me to write paragraph to make myself more relevant - how to do this?

I have very high anxiety around doing something wrong, and I've hit a stumbling block.

I wrote a cover letter which (in my view) highlighted the relevance of my experience? So if it's not relevant enough then I can't think what else to say? Confused

Wwyd?

Perhaps ask the recruiter for pointers

If your experience isn't relevant, focus on your transferable skills

Is this for a particular job application or more general?

Maybe it needs to shorter and to the point than a Covering letter. A chance for you to highlight your relevance in a punchy manner to get an insight into what you think is a priority.

Hmmm. Maybe they meant relevance to the organisation you want to work for? Or to the current situation in the industry? Or maybe to the pandemic?

Maybe your cover letter is too long. A few ideas...

condense the cover letter
Start the paragraph 'After reading that the job specification requires x y and z I believe that .... Then write about how you have the right skills

I had to do a page for current job and think they were testing my ability to write consicely and clearly. I took main bits of the job description and described exactly where I had relevant experience. Made it easy for a busy recruiter to see why I was a good candidate.
Everything was already in my CV/ cover remarks but they just wanted it packaged differently.
Good luck.
