Will Haley really be accepted for/in 2024, when she has been pipped at the post by Harris? Seems to me that the GOP running a woman who isn't white is a little improbable just at the moment when so much GOP effort is going into vilifying Harris for being, well, a woman who isn't white.

That video made me smile. Joe and Jill dressed casually, drinking coffee with the dogs running around.

Just seeing normal, positive images like that must give Americans such a sense of relief that their country is heading in the right direction.

Honestly, I have a feeling that Doofus' 'defense' team isn't going to bother with much other than "This trial is unconstitutional. Thank you for your attention, the defense now rests". After all, why waste your breath 'convincing' your co-conspirators and/or arse-lickers. Personally, I'd find it a relief if that's what they did. I find it infuriating to hear the lies and justifications, to the point where I have to mute the TV.

There's going to be a Q&A part though, where Senators get to ask questions. That's going to be interesting AND very telling as far as the GOP Senators go.

MSNBC was saying the vote could come as soon as tomorrow.

I thought this had been addressed when they held a vote about whether to hold the trial. Are they even allowed to use it as a defence if it has been dealt with already?

I think the defense said they expected to use 3 hours of their allotted time.

But in any case, I'm done and I have it on mute so I can see when the Q&A starts. The editing of video and audio is so far out of context it would be laughable if it weren't so infuriating.

Trump defense now literally playing politicians using the word fight. None of them inspired an insurrection.

All these people who are being "accused" by the defence for saying that they would fight are not the ones being charged

They were not POTUS.

They were private citizens, who could've been charged in the courts.

Unlike POTUS who is above the legal system and the only recourse is impeachment.

The spliced videos of single words are really irritating me - especially since these are not the ones being charged.

And that's not even considering the fact that their supporters didn't storm the Capitol. Not in 2016, nor in the years since.

They just voted and won.
