What do you think will happen house prices in UK and Ireland over the next few years?

House prices seem crazy everywhere. Will they just keep rising slowly? How will anyone afford to get on the ladder? Is there going to be a shift towards longterm renting with decent tenant's rights?

I'm fairly sure if you have a google you'll be able to find articles written by people in the know, rather than garnishing opinions of random MNers with wildly varying levels of qualification to comment.
