to ask what job I can do that isn't Marketing?

I've worked in Marketing for the last 8 years across various sectors. I got into it accidentally and don't love it - in all honesty I have anxiety, and I find the open limits of marketing and always working towards targets stressful and mentally exhausting. I feel like I could/should always be doing more and constantly worrying about meeting financial targets.

I want to move into a role where my limits are very much set - where I know what I have to do, I can go in everyday and just get the job done. Where there isn't any financial pressure on me and I won't have too much worry to take home at the end of each day.

I'd like to move away from marketing and into something slightly different - I don't want to jump so much that I start from the bottom again, but looking for any ideas of anything jobs that aren't specifically marketing and that I will benefit from my skillset/experience when applying.

I've been thinking of digital content or CRM work - ie. managing website content or managing databases. Does anyone have any idea whether these roles require any specific skills or any courses?

Or does anyone have any other ideas for roles that would be an easy transition from marketing?

Thank you so much in advance. I hope that all made sense and you can understand what I mean!

I’m a career coach. Do you want a free hour on Zoom to talk through what you need? It might help you come away with some clarity about what your options are and what to do next. Drop me a PM if you fancy it, no worries if not.

What about social or market research? In house comms for a small-ish company?

I work in marketing too. For an online retailer. retail plus marketing is sooooo hard so I empathize with you.

Would it help to specialise in one area of marketing instead of being spread?

Content for e-commerce site? Writing product descriptions, creating outfits, VMing product pages etc

Copywriting

Social media content creation

Branding

All still within marketing but no KPIs

The company I work for is looking for a CRM exec at the moment. This is taken from the "who you are" section, to show the main things needed/wanted. (All roles/industries will obviously vary but as an idea.)

Experience in a CRM role or direct marketing. Ideally with experience in SFMC.

HTML and photoshop skills.

Basic programming language knowledge is a benefit.

High level of attention to detail. Strong time managment, prioritization and problem solving skills.

Good knowledge of Office. Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

University degree or equivalent experience.
