Call me nosey but at 25 I’d not quite got into the sector I’m in now and at 35, I’d already started on my career path. Went to university, had my kids afterwards, but was done by the time I was 30yrs old. I’ll start £19,000 and £30,000. I will admit that it has accelerated since. But more interested in those crucial child rearing years between 25-35.

To all those taking issue with the phrase “crucial child bearing years”, the average age of a first time mother in the UK is 28.9yrs old last time I checked. So I went for a time span of 25-35yrs old. It was not mean to be a slight on those who had their kids at a much older age! Ok? Good.

Ileflottante · 06/02/2021 15:57

Froggie456 · 06/02/2021 15:57

NanooCov · 06/02/2021 17:09

25 - £23k
35 - £75k

I had my kids between the ages of 37 and 40. I'm now 43 and basic salary is £92k

jellybe · 06/02/2021 17:14

25= 28k full time
36 = 35k part time
Now= nothing as am a student again.

snowisfallingallaroundus · 06/02/2021 18:03

The average salary in the UK is 28k but most people on here are earning 80k+ by 35?

Aye, right then.

25 - 17k
35- 32k

I'm now nearly 60 and earn 75k and top of my industry but took many many promotions to get here.

Don't know anyone, even solicitors or STEM career colleagues earning the amounts said on here at those ages.

MerryDecembermas · 06/02/2021 18:07

God there are some eye wateringly high salaries here.

25 - maybe 18k for 5 days a week
35 - 25k for 4 days a week

Wish I hadn't chosen a STEM degree and then failed to get into industry!

MegBusset · 06/02/2021 18:14

I know very few women in their 30s earning anywhere near what most people on here have stated, but then MN is a bastion of middle classness!

Eeve · 06/02/2021 18:19

25 = £36k
35 = £56k

welshweasel · 06/02/2021 18:22

25 £45k
35 £100k

Two kids

Flyingf1edgelings · 06/02/2021 18:48

25- £21k
35- £100- £150k
But two completely different jobs

Flyingf1edgelings · 06/02/2021 18:49

At 25 I worked 37.5 hrs week
Now I work 20 to 25 hrs week to suit children

Nohomemadecandles · 06/02/2021 18:50

25 - 35k
35 - 50k

lboogy · 06/02/2021 18:51

25 -22k
35 - 48k

snowy0wl · 06/02/2021 19:00

I’m intrigued to know what jobs people are doing to earn such high salaries at a young age. I’m also presuming they are not standard 9-5 jobs?

justab0utsurviving · 06/02/2021 19:01

25: 27k
35: 51k
37:55k plus bonuses

2 kids.

Fuzzyspringroll · 06/02/2021 19:22

25: about 20k
35: about 35k
Now 38 and on 45k.
I'm a teacher and wouldn't expect to earn an awful lot more, to be honest. I enjoy my job and we are quite comfortable with that amount. Depends on where you live and what you like, I guess. Not sure I'd want a job that pays loads but bores me.

newtb · 06/02/2021 19:28

25 £6000
35 £9000
In between £24000

oblada · 06/02/2021 20:00

I wouldn't believe everything on there :)
sbhydrogen · 06/02/2021 20:10

Are people stating their salaries or are they giving their total compensation (stocks, shares and all)?

BlueDay22 · 06/02/2021 20:24

25 - 30K
35 - 47K
38 - 0 Confused (SAHM)

Beck30 · 06/02/2021 21:16

haven't read the entire thread. At 25 roughly 25-30k. At 35 something between £250-300k. Lucky to be in a high paying industry, although I suppose most was performance related.

Never went into the job for pay. would have been amazed if I'd been told I would get to £40k. Don't spend it.

Marinaloves · 06/02/2021 21:20

This thread is fucking hilarious and almost entirely made up

Onedropbeat · 06/02/2021 21:24

25 - £24k
35 - £50k

Had 2 babies between 31 & 34

Returned to work at 35 after last set of maternity leave

Not planning any more babies
Not planning on any major career progression , I just want to spend time with my family as much as possible whilst affording to do the occasional travelling

Pandemic has focused my mind to that too

Pre pandemic it was all about career progression and moving up the housing ladder
