Anyone else plan their diet (and therefore, output) around where they will be the next day?

Worked (until being shit canned thanks to CV19) in hospitality so have spent the best part of the last year at home.

Got a job at a local supermarket and TOTALLY forgot about my mild IBS. At home I can fart with impunity so its just become normal! I had sprouts on Monday, which I love but dunnarf make me stink and hurt, and spent most of the next day in agony and finding excuses to stand outside instead of in the porch ..... thank god I was on door duty :o

So I have gone back to what I used to do which is planning my weekly food around whether I am at work or not, I used to include my social life too. My sister says I should just fart and own it, but then she is a) not as socially nervous as me b) is the boss so can bugger off as she likes and c) has her own office which is rarely occupied with anyone but her so she can escape there if she needs to let rip. In my old job, I was the boss but couldnt just nip out if we were busy, as we usually were so I had to plan around my bowels.

I am not weird for doing this, right?

No - that's not weird. I wouldn't eat lentils or any other pulses really if I had somewhere to be the next day that didn't have a toilet every 100 paces or so Grin

Definitely don't take your sister's advice of "fart and own it" 🤢

Totally agree with you. I'm loving it have to go out on the school run as I can eat what I want, when I want!

I don’t do it generally except avoiding spicy food or strong onion or garlic due to the breathe the next day. DH is affected by sausage so would have to be careful with those.

Yup, IBS-D sufferer. So much food planning before a big event. I've made the most of WFH by eating cheese, knowing no-one else will know when my digestive system does something unpleasant
