To think some people are so extreme with regards to the Covid rules?

Our local police station has just mentioned that the person that has been fishing on the canal is abiding by local exercise restrictions and so there's no need to report them.

Seriously? I saw this person the other day and didn't think of anything to do with reporting them!

I hate the way people are turning against each other.

What's the worst Covid reporting you've seen?

Fishing on a canal is exercise? 😂 I'm very surprised, especially as you aren't supposed to sit on benches in parks.

Bizarre but true!

GintyMcGinty · 04/02/2021 18:23

First I've heard of this one.

Someone I know had her child’s 4th birthday party in her house reported and the police turned up.
Admittedly it was against the rules of no household mixing but it was literally the day after the rules came in force and she couldn’t bare to upset the little girl. It was also just family/cousins etc so not a huge party and they had all been together in the week before when they could mix so didn’t see it as huge breaking of the rules.

The mum is looking for revenge and put it this way I wouldn’t want to be in her bad books as she will go in for the kill Grin

My brother and SILs neighbour called the police on them on Christmas Day as they had her (single) father over for dinner, within the existing rules. This was after he had been around to their front door drunk shouting the odds. My brother took great pleasure in showing the police the Ring doorbell footage! Twat.

A couple of people at our yard had the police called on them for riding their horses out together. Apparently riding a horse isn’t exercise as you just sit there.

The police said they’d done nothing wrong and to carry on as they were.

It's not a reporting but I am confused at people who act terrified to go out yet still do other things that would put them at risk.

My friend who is admittedly 'vulnerable' has
invited me into her house several times through restrictions had my partner and I over for xmas and new year drinks.
She does go to the shops.
Before these latest restrictions worked in a school
Let's her grown up children bring their friends onto the house.
But she told me yesterday that a delivery man accidentally touched her when handing over the parcel and she closed the door, screamed and ran up to wash her arm under the bath taps.....Confused alright love

Into the house*

Notimeforaname · 04/02/2021 18:38

Oh and shes goes in the back way to a closed down salon to have her hair cut. Because she 'cant go around looking a state '

Notimeforaname · 04/02/2021 18:39

At the same time telling me she cant cope.. she never leaves the house and has panic attacks about it all.

TheRuleofStix · 04/02/2021 18:40

@CaptainSirTomMooreismyhero you are allowed to sit on park benches.

And this is the problem - there is sooo much confusion over the rules.

blackheartsgirl · 04/02/2021 18:42

My ds was reported for going in and out of his house all day ( picked up his dd from her mums and took her to school and then took her to school from his etc) and for fixing his car which was knackered outside his house with his friend..needed a hand with heavy stuff but both wore masks etc. He needs the car for work.
Police turned up and told him to carry on 🤣

Woman who runs a local kids clothes shop got reported for travelling to do remote kids shoe fittings. Police told her to stop. MSP and council got involved now she’s back up and running! Local bakery got reported as not essential. Allowed to open under current rules but they agreed to only let 1 person in at a time. People need to wind their necks in.

I know the rules and know you are allowed to sit on park benches. I was trying to allude to the police having misinterpreted them by trying to stop some people from doing so.

TheRuleofStix · 04/02/2021 20:05

Oh, apologies - “especially as you aren’t allowed to sit on park benches” read differently to me Confused.
