Aibu to cheat? Would you cheat ?

Bit of a moral dilemma here.
Tomorrow I have a final interview for a job I have wanted for years
Today they emailed and said due to technical issues the interview would be a phone interview again (I've already had a phone interview for this role, this was meant to be zoom)
So I'm thinking of writing some questions and answers out so I'm prepared and so I sound good.
My friend has said that's cheating and I should just treat it like I would a zoom.
What would you do?
I've been on glass door and wrote out and answered some interview questions apparently they ask.
Aibu to do this?
Is it actually cheating?

Just be careful you aren't looking down too much

supportivemyarse · 03/02/2021 09:37

not cheating at all. its preparation. you're just being diligent and thorough, that is a good thing.

good luck.

Cheeseandwin5 · 03/02/2021 09:43

Being prepared and organised is not cheating.
I would be impressed as a potential employer.
Good Luck

Nothappyland · 03/02/2021 09:47

Only just read this thread but hope it goes well OP! Agreed that it definitely isn’t cheating too!

Hope it's going well OP! Good luck Thanks

I don't think it went well at all
None of the questions they asked were what I had prepared for and I feel like I didn't give enough detail in them
Never mind

Ah op you never know.

I had an interview for an internal senior post few years ago. Halfway through the interview I just felt like saying sorry for wasting your time I'll just get back to work now. It was shockingly bad .... I was atrocious in it and my concern was do I still have my own job after showing myself up to the big bosses. Still gives me a red face when I think of it 😥

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 03/02/2021 10:51

Sorry you don't feel it went well.

Given how much prep you had done, I expect that was down to their ability, not yours!

Let us know when you find out.

Do you still feel the same about the job/company?

TokyoSushi · 03/02/2021 15:54

Oh no! You never know, your prep may still have helped. Sending good luck vibes.

The thing with interviewing for a job is you are competing against other candidates but you don't get to see how well they did, only your own impression of how well you did.

Lots of time bad interviews are a result of the interviewer not the interviewee and that usually means most of the interviews they conduct will be bad.

You don't need to be the best! you just need to be the least worst!

I had one interview that was sooo bad one time the interviewer even accused me of lying (I did sort of exaggerate experience in one area) and they even raised their voice at me. It was one of the most hostile interviews I have had. Anyway I walked away and the recruiter called me and asked how it went. I told the recruiter it was the worst interview I ever had. The recruiter called me back 10 minutes later and said the client wanted to offer me the role! apparently that's just how they are there. I ended up working there for 1 week before I quit but that's not the point of the story. Point is you have no idea how well or bad other interviews have been. You could still get an offer or another interview. If you're interested in the role follow up with the recruiter and tell them you were a bit nervous on the call but you are very interested in the role and see if they can push for you.

It's not cheating! Its preparing! Who DOESN'T do that? I mean I always write out what I'm gonna say before an interview and just try to practice and memorise a but and make it sound natural. Do it! Anyone who says no on this thread probably isn't very experienced with/doesnt do very well in job interviews! Grin

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 04/02/2021 02:28

Oh, just read your update. Sorry OP Sad But remember that weird phenomenon where any essay/exam you think went well, didn't, but every one you think went badly actually went amazingly? Maybe it will be like that Smile Fingers crossed!
