I've eaten several slices with a nice cup of tea. Tastes fine if a bit dry. 2017 expiry date.

Am I unreasonable to do this, and will I die of food poisoning?

It looked and tasted ok. No mould visible, no mould taste. Just dry.

You will be fine. As you say, it will be dry and not at its very very best. But you won’t be ill

I'm bored. Self isolating. Fed up. Craving sugary stuff. Found this at the back of the cupboard.

katy1213 · 01/02/2021 19:10

I'd have made a bread and butter pudding if it's a bit stale.

AliceAbsolum · 01/02/2021 19:13

Brave. But fair enough

Theunamedcat · 01/02/2021 19:15

Its your toilet 🤷‍♀️ worse case scenario it will come out faster than it went in chances are you will get away with it

thenightsky · 01/02/2021 19:16

Panetoni always tastes dry and stale to me anyway. Grin

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 01/02/2021 19:16

It's fine.

My Dad would have said 'you need a bit of butter on that' & he wouldn't have been wrong

I found one with a similar bbe date at the back of the larder last week. It smelt of Stilton 🤢

Before Christmas, I found a jar of 20 year old mincemeat at the back of the cupboard. DH made mincepies and ate the lot (he hates wasting anything).

bloodyhairy · 01/02/2021 21:37

Panettones are fucking huge. How could someone have one lingering for 3 years?? More cupboard space then sense! WinkGrin

samanthawashington · 02/02/2021 08:35

Yes, we ate some because it's such a huge box and was taking up space. We are still here this morning with no poo problems. Will be throwing it out today as it's dried out even more and is now rock solid.

We have a Christmas pudding of similar vintage. May just try that later 😂
