thinking about this after a conversation I had with my mum. she said it's now, at 47 because she was so insecure in her 20s and 30s and had 3 young kids, whereas now she is confident and gets sleep lol!

I am already starting to feel age insecurity creeping in and I'm only 27! so what age did you feel/look your best?

35-40 without a doubt! I was very confident (doing well in my career), I had relocated and made some friends, then met my dh. All of this shone through in my looks I think.

52 now and nowhere near as confident- yeah thanks menopause!!

BusterGonad · 01/02/2021 13:02

About the age of 28, I came off the pill and naturally lost about a stone, found a style I liked and felt great, had many compliments, had my son, lost more weight, I made a real effort with make up and felt a million dollars about 6 years down the line got diagnosed with IBD, it had a knock on effect with everything, could no longer tolerate healthy fibrous foods, got very depressed and piled all the wright back on. I look and feel old and cannot seem to get my mojo back. I've ordered loads of nice clothes, I still make an effort but I feel like I've really let myself down.

EternalOptimist7 · 01/02/2021 13:02

Mid 40s when I did karate - I was fitter than I’ve ever been in my life! I get depressed looking in the mirror now as I’m size 18 to 20 ( I’m now 55). Should get back in the dojo!

BusterGonad · 01/02/2021 13:03

Sorry, so my best years were 28 to about 35

Imapotato · 01/02/2021 13:03

18! Haha! No probably around my late 20s. I’m finding it harder to keep the weight off in my 30s and I’m not very committed to trying!!

CharlotteRose90 · 01/02/2021 13:04

When I turned 30 my confidence came. I was so insecure in my 20s and had no confidence. Whereas now I’m nearly 31 in much better :)

I got diagnosed at 25 with IBD so you’re not alone. It takes a few years to build yourself back up. You will get there I had the feelings of being fat and very depressed.
NoOpinionNoProblem · 01/02/2021 13:07

About 20-22, and then 26 to 31. I was so made up about being able to wear hot pants in my 30's and loved going clubbing. I'm now 38 and two kids (and two stone weight gain later) and a sedentary job and I feel like a right fusty old bag who has given up on my looks. My OH won't go near me now. How times change!

GloriaGuadalajara · 01/02/2021 13:08

Now I look back at photos, about the age of 22. I was fit and tanned and a size 10-12 with an hourglass figure, flat stomach, fantastic boobs and long shiny hair.
I thought I was fat and had very little body confidence.
Now I actually am fat with two small children and zero time to maintain myself and wish I could go back in time to slap my 22 year old self and tell her she's beautiful!

AbstractHeart · 01/02/2021 13:09

My whole 20s really. Then I had two kids and now my body is a mess!

MiaMarshmallows · 01/02/2021 13:12

Never. I have always been a very ugly woman.

LizFlowers · 01/02/2021 13:13

50

MissCalamity · 01/02/2021 13:14

23/24 - I was working abroad and walking everywhere on my days off and eating well.
Definitely at my slimmest and also had a nice glow!
I look my worse now (41, after 2 kids)

NoOpinionNoProblem · 01/02/2021 13:14

If anyone could give me some tips to get my mojo back I would really appreciate it. I'm.not sure whether to give up and admit defeat, or put the effort in to look better. Is it worth it or just lost on a 38 year old?

Notthis2 · 01/02/2021 13:15

I'm 36 and feel and look my best. Looked absolutely haggard late 20's , earlier 30's as had three kids , two who didn't sleep for years.
For the last 4 months I've started to sleep all night, my dcs all getting easier during the day

The sleep has made me look young again! I'm also fitter and the most toned I've been as I've taken up running. I actually thank my dcs , they are all so high energy so I have to keep fit.
I'm delighted tbh and I can't wait until they lift restrictions so maybe me and my dh can go out and dress up again. We both feel great at 36 and happy to have gotten through the baby / toddler stage adorable though they are!

Pippa234 · 01/02/2021 13:15

My 30s, I have found my style and I have found myself.
I only wish I felt like that in my 20s.
I finally understood my self worth and how to love myself, I am a totally different woman to that of my 20s.
I prefer me now. Looks wise and mind wise.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 01/02/2021 13:17

Looked my best - mid twenties to early thirties. Probably hit my peak the year I got married; aged 29.

Felt the best health wise/fitness. Same period really.

Happiest overall - early mid 40s when I’d had my youngest child and career also going well.

I’m 54 now and whilst I’m lucky and content I feel the best has already happened. My looks have faded fast in the last 3 or 4 years. I’m a realist.

PontefractFake · 01/02/2021 13:18

Right now - 31. Didn't look after myself at all from 16-24. All I did was eat cake, pizza, drink 2L bottles of fizzy drinks and didn't exercise at all. Got dumped, made slow changes in 2016 when I met my new bf and now I am 31, lowest weight I've ever been, strongest I've ever been and I am happy with how I dress myself, style my hair and my abilities and achievements in life.

WorraLiberty · 01/02/2021 13:21

I can't really pick an age.

I'm 51 now and don't really remember an age where I feel I didn't look and feel my best.

When my DC were babies I had a lot less sleep but I can't really say it affected me that much.

Possibly a state of mind though?

Notashandyta · 01/02/2021 13:25

I was a stunner in my teens and twenties.

Had three kids in my thirties and looked tired and haggard but still ok.

Early forties now, confident, glad baby years behind me, and still looking pretty good. Dont think it will last much longer though!

Oh, and I got really lucky that after breastfeeding all three, somehow my boobs got massive and firm and stayed that way! So although I'm 4 stone heavier than in my teens, I have boobs to die for and actually look better with no clothes on now than I used to!

elliejjtiny · 01/02/2021 13:26

17/18 I think.

LadyGAgain · 01/02/2021 13:28

31-34, recently single, slim, happy, carefree, comfortable in my own skin and who I am, found new love, before kids.

Strokethefurrywall · 01/02/2021 13:30

Look my best and feel my best now, 41 years old.

I'm in cracking shape, kids didn't ruin me and I'm probably more attractive now because Im confident and now I don't give a shit what people think of me. I look good and feel good and it's all for me 🙌🏼

VinylDetective · 01/02/2021 13:30

Phase 1 of looking my best was 30-45. Then I gained a lot of happy fat which wasn’t a good look. Phase 2 was 53-62, weight gone and confidence at a high.

I find my face ages when I’m stressed or unhappy and bounces back a bit when I’m not. March to December last year was horrendously stressful and I looked ancient. I feel and look a lot better now.

nanbread · 01/02/2021 13:31

I think about 30, I'm thinner now but look haggard and wrinkly and old for my age.
