AIBU to ask where has loads of rats?

Inspired by another thread of places you have no desire to visit and a poster mentioned New York as having loads of rats, where have you travelled to that had loads of rodents? Except squirrels of course, they are exempted haha. And yes of course I know they are everywhere, but it's rare you see any day to day in the UK. I think! I am so so scared of them! That rat temple in India is the stuff of my nightmares.

My Bedroom according to DH I disagree I could easily squeeze some more rats in apart from the 6 currently residing here. Oh and the 3 in DDs Bedroom

Everywhere in the city centre. When DD was a baby we'd take an early morning walk 6am you could see the filthy buggers scattering about searching for food. I saw about 6 rats squeeze in the air conditioning shaft of a very fancy apartment block by mid morning there are none in sight.
