Bras are uncomfortable

Is it me or are bras so uncomfortable?

I've spent a fortune trying to find the right bra, but alas, nothing.

Can anyone suggest any comfortable, push up bra?
Im 34 underneath, 42 on the fullest part, and 45 at 90 degrees and probably bell/East West. Every website gives me a different size, from 34FF to 30H and 38G.

Sorry if this is the wrong place I couldn't work out where to put it!!

@Fallsballs I veer between small mega and medium mega.

Had medium thunders postpartum but fall out of them by end of day.

For reference, I’m a busty 16/18 and never “small” at anything.

Very comfortable 34G .

I bought this one after I was fitted by Rigby and Peller with this similar balconette style of bra . I bought of of theirs at the fitting . I measured using the Boob and Bust system and the size recommended by R&P was the same .

For chilling at home the M&S ones are surprisingly supportive and very comfortable

How does the M&S work as its dress sizes ? My size varies in clothes .

LividLoving · 30/01/2021 12:33

I will say, first time putting one on you WILL think it’s too small. There’s a knack to it.

AnotherEmma · 30/01/2021 12:38

Are you breastfeeding? Just checking as you mentioned childbirth. But you also mentioned going to work so probably not breastfeeding a small baby...

The boob or bust website says your starting size is 34H, so try that. (This assumes you measured correctly and 34 was a snug fit.)

Funnily enough I'm the same size and I'd advise you to steer clear of bralettes, they're nowhere near supportive enough. I find my boobs look much better in an underwired bra (with side sling preferably). Some wires are more brutal than others, I found Bravissimo own brand best for me. I think they are doing online fitting advice so why not try that? Tell them you find most bras uncomfortable and don't want really hard wires.

If you're on Facebook, join the boob or bust group as they have some very knowledgable admins who can advise on size, fit and styles for you.

Op I hate buying bras with a passion, and I'd been sticking to 'sensible' rather than fashion brands because I thought they'd be more comfortable. They weren't.

Last week I ordered a bra from ann summers purely because I had a discount code to use... it was £15 and isn't overly 'sexy', yet it's certainly pretty and is plain white so can be worn under my normal everyday clothes.

It fits beautifully. It had extra padding in which I removed, the straps aren't too far out so don't dig into my armpits like most do and the back doesn't rise up. It gives a lovely shape AND I'm not left with a horrible sore line under my boobs where the material has curled under like every single M&S bra ever does. It's just called a sexy balcony or something.... I'm ordering 3 more Grin

TerriblyTiiiired · 30/01/2021 12:46

Is there such a thing as a supportive, slightly uplifting, non wired bra that ISNT a bralette? I just don’t find them supportive enough for my saggy, outward swinging 32Fs...

Yellredder · 30/01/2021 12:50

I’m a 34F and feel uncomfortable without a bra. I buy Panache Tangos I think!) and they’re perfect for me.

Molke has been mentioned more than once already
the80sweregreat · 30/01/2021 12:54

I hate bras. I bought some vest tops out of tesco and just wear them around the house under my clothes. Much warmer too.
If I have to put on a bra to go out anywhere I dread it and every single one is tight and uncomfortable. I feel like I can't breath.
Horrid items.

SpeckledyHen · 30/01/2021 12:55

Moria I’m 14/16 up top in clothes with my 34Gs . I bought 16 and it is perfect . I thought a 14 might flatten them ...

m0therofdragons · 30/01/2021 13:00

Molke look only suitable for small boobs and nothing more than a crop top. Are they actually supportive and are they adjustable?

midgedude · 30/01/2021 13:08

I am larger (hh) and find them fantastic

The are not adjustable as such but strongly elasticsted and interesting design , which means they mold ( mould? ) aaround you

That means that should you find your cup size varies with TOTM , or you weight wanders a little , you get just as good a fit

I used to puppy dreadfully at times ,always struggled with straps staying on my shoulders , lots of red marks ( yes fitted by Royce and by bravissimo) , lots of movement , under armpit boob , aches in boobs whenever I took the Damn thing off , you name it

Bigpinkslippers · 30/01/2021 13:21

I'm 36g and recently bought 2 from Wear my freedom. Pricey but non wired and very very comfy.
Only issue I've found is because the straps can either normal or cross back they do sometimes come undone. Saying that I'll buy them again.

yeOldeTrout · 30/01/2021 13:21

Argh, all the models on the Molke website seem to be plus size.
Which is fine, whatever, but it's hard to imagine the bra look on me who am Not plus size.

I have same problem looking at pics on BoobyDoo website.

Feels like I have to look for mainstream only skinny model sites to try to envision the look properly (for me).

midgedude · 30/01/2021 13:27

There's a super skinny Molke model ... often in the sky blue ( I know I am sad )

nordica · 30/01/2021 13:31

I have some Molke bras too and they are really supportive, I can do light exercise or run for a bus no problem in them. Much more supportive than a badly fitting M&S bra I used to wear in the past... It's not a crop top at all, the band gives the support and sits where underwires would sit. Size 32GG and 12/14 clothes so not tiny but not plus sized...

Look at the Molke Instagram account for lots of photos of women of all sizes.

The only downside is the fabric is not ideal under all clothes and sometimes I want to wear something more silky/smooth under some tops and dresses.

LarryUnderwood · 30/01/2021 13:32

Another molke fan. I'm a 34gg and the molke give good lift and don't create a monoboob shelf. And they're very comfortable.

LarryUnderwood · 30/01/2021 13:33

But you do need to be able to pull them off over your head so probs not good if you have stiff or sore shoulders

midgedude · 30/01/2021 13:39

I step in and pull up/down

TerriblyTiiiired · 30/01/2021 14:11

Hmmm. Not loving those Molke bras. The straps are enormous. Aren’t they really hot?

Fallsballs · 30/01/2021 14:11

I’ve just ordered a unicorn one as it was the only one left in my size.
Hoping it works/fits and I’ll not expect it to go on or off easily ! I think not having had to wear a wired bra for months has made them feel like an instrument of torture now as a PP said - even my Wacoal ones from John Lewis I thought were fine feel cumbersome.

Fallsballs · 30/01/2021 14:13

I’m not thinking @TerriblyTiiiired they are remotely attractive and I wouldn’t like to be run over whilst wearing a unicorn one but I need a break from wires so I’m desperate to give the girls a lift without pain.

TerriblyTiiiired · 30/01/2021 14:15

@Fallsballs

I hear ya! 😆

Comfort over style all day long right now, anyway!

yeOldeTrout · 30/01/2021 14:16

I just ordered the Uni verse one from Molke, (yes unicorns in a star field, I am that sad).
£40 delivered, eek. This thread gave me a bit of FOMO, though.
Will report back if it's good enough.
