For ten hours

It's fine I often go that long. I don't drink much. I should probably drink more. It's a problem if you go too often, it can be a symptom of a few things but not going often probabilities just means you need to drink more!

MsAwesomeDragon · 28/01/2021 20:40

I went to bed early last night feeling ill. I was asleep for 12 hours and didn't need to get up for a wee in the middle of the night. And my bladder is not normally known for its control 🤷

Dd2 is 10 and regularly doesn't go during the day. She doesn't like using the school toilets so she just waits til she gets home. That's a good 9 hours between leaving the house in the morning and arriving back in the afternoon. She isn't desperate when she gets home either, she just hasn't really needed to go. She's been like this for years and is perfectly healthy so it can't be too much of a problem.

@Living6767

It’s about me I’m concerned that I don’t need to use the loo often. I’m otherwise healthy.
Drink more?
Coffeeandaride · 28/01/2021 20:41

No I’ve (as long as I can remember) and 4 normal deliveries been able to not pass urine for 12 hours.

I can then pass 2 litres. It’s only if beyond 2 litres full that I start to feel it uncomfortable.

I deliberately pass urine 4 times in 24 hours but I have to make the effort. If I drink litres of water (or >3 coffees) I will go a bit more often.

noisenoisenoisenoise · 28/01/2021 20:42

What's with all the competitive lack of going to the loo?

MrsClatterbuck · 28/01/2021 20:42

This used to be me until recently. I had the odd periods of running to the loo but they didn't last. Now I can't pass a loo or a running tap without the urge to go. The 1st lockdown Dh and I had to make a few essential long journeys and I was fine but him not so much. Went shopping the other week and discovered that they had closed the loos in the shopping centre (only 4 or 5 shops open including the supermarket. Don't know how I made it home. Even writing about it now has made want to go.

Coffeeandaride · 28/01/2021 20:42

*including after 4 normal deliveries

I feel lucky, not broken :-)

How much fluid are you drinking, and what colour is your urine?
Living6767 · 28/01/2021 20:45

I drink maybe two 500mls bottles of water a day plus a cup of tea in the morning. I don’t feel thirsty.

Dh regularly does this. He's 34. Definitely doesn't drink enough during the day.

FinallyHere · 28/01/2021 20:52

Try drinking twice that amount each day and see what happens.

noisenoisenoisenoise · 28/01/2021 20:53

I have to say this is an odd thread...

Fieldofyellowflowers · 28/01/2021 20:54

That is ot a lot of liquid in the grand scheme of things. 2 litres per day is the recommended dose and to drink frequently throughout the day. If it has been long time since you drank anything then it is going to be a long time before you wee. Your body can hold on to water tol if you are not drinking enough.

Ginfordinner · 28/01/2021 20:57

What colour is your urine? Dark yellow?

ElizaLaLa · 28/01/2021 21:03

You're not thirsty because you're not drinking enough. Start drinking more and your thirst will come back.

icantdoitalone · 28/01/2021 21:07

I can go 17 hours - I have a bladder condition and self catheterise.

I’ve been rushed in with 2.5 litres backed up . It’s a medical emergency if you can’t pee and need to go - mine is often silent though, I can hold a litre with no problems at all . Bladder is absolutely massive unforunately.

They do take it very seriously - I’ve been in hospital dozens of times since age 16 or so with it.

icantdoitalone · 28/01/2021 21:09

Interestingly one of my symptoms is I never need the loo - but I’ve had to keep in and out charts and had tests to indicate my bladder is still filling . I would keep an eye on how much you drink, you can probably just write it down in a notebook and see if I take and output roughly match .

Plussizejumpsuit · 28/01/2021 21:18

I would be really thirsty if I drank that much. But I do drink quite a lot. I always have. But I don't know if your situation iw massively worrying. How dark is your wee?

ShalomToYouJackie · 28/01/2021 21:53

1l of water a day plus a cup of tea is nowhere near enough liquid!

MaxNormal · 28/01/2021 22:30

What's with all the competitive lack of going to the loo?

It's the competitive freezing houses of 2021.

Watermama · 28/01/2021 22:33

Lol this reminds me of my DH spending the day at my parents and my father being absolutely shocked to his core that my DH didn't pee the whole 12 hours. I had always said to DH it was strange so I was happy my dad noticed too.
He's older now so is much more regular now a days. I suspect the younger you are the longer you can last without going.

BrutusMcDogface · 28/01/2021 22:41

My brother sat next to me on a plane from Heathrow to LAX- 11 hours- drank a normal amount but didn’t pee the whole time, not until we had been through customs etc. Didn’t sleep much either, so it wasn’t that he just slept the whole time. Guess some people can just hold their urine 🤷🏻‍♀️

NoSquirrels · 28/01/2021 22:47

Just drink more liquid and you’ll need to per more.

Loads of people have told you they don’t pee much because they don’t drink enough.

Unless your urine is really dark or you’re otherwise having issues - headaches, kidney pain, whatever - then you’re OK.

Have a couple more cups of tea and you’re sorted!

angelikacpickles · 28/01/2021 23:00

If you are otherwise generally healthy, then you are looking for a problem where there isn't one.

bitliketonyhares · 28/01/2021 23:11

Just drink more then?
