Hello, not new but name changed a few days ago because why not.
I'm planning to open an online store selling mostly wooden toys but can't think of any names.
I've seen in the past few days other people asking for suggestions so I said I'll try my luck.
Please Mumsnet help me find a catchy name Flowers

I like a previous poster's suggestion of Timber Tots.

hesterstanhope · 27/01/2021 02:45

Evergreen Toys (eco, fresh, earthy without using wood)
Century Toys (dependable, long lasting)
Earthling (catchy and fun, good logo opportunities)

I’d start with the values which will appeal to the buyers (long lasting, eco, natural appearance) and go from there, also consider what is going to work well on a Google search (avoid the words wood and toys).

So many of these sound like porn titles!

Does your local town or area have a nice natural ring to it? Or using one of your children's names? You could follow the two word trend for brand names like old pub names, such as 'Woodsman and Olive' or 'Feather and Sage'. Maybe there are two wood/play related words you could shoehorn together.

'Sawdust & Rainbows'
'Seed & Sapling'
'Acorn River'
'Walnut & Company'

I would avoid anything that describes what you sell too closely. The reason being that so many retail businesses start selling one thing but then over time they find something else sells better and they move into that. So you start selling wooden toys but you try stocking a few of those sets of those pretty bamboo plates and bowls for toddlers. In a year you might discover that they're more profitable so you stock more of those and fewer toys. So if you start off with a name like Branching Out, it won't really matter what you sell in the end. But if you start off with a name like The Wooden Toy Shop, you'll end up feeling you have to stick with toys or else rebrand, both of which could be costly options.
