To go back in again about movements?

Sorry I know this is AIBU.

I was at the hospital at the weekend for monitoring due to what I felt was reduced movements. All was fine when I was there and I had a scan the next day (Sunday) which again showed all fine. Baby movements were back to normal by the scan.

However, I'm lay here today and I just feel the same way again.

Should I go back again despite all being fine just a day ago?

I'm 39 weeks. I feel like I'm wasting their time.

Yet another midwife here. You’re not being unreasonable, you’re not wasting our time. Often, a change in movements can be quite innocuous, but sometimes it is sinister, and there is no way of knowing unless we check you out. We have no problem checking you over. I will check you on the hour every hour until you give birth if necessary. The worst that will happen is that you lose a couple of hours of your time. So come and see us. It’s what we’re here for.

And I truly hope all is well.

Thanks all. Sorry for going quiet!

Still nothing here Sad I'm gutted. I'm in quite a lot of pain, not feeling great but just seem to be stuck...!

Had a bloody show along with a huge plug not long after I posted last but since then just irregular contractions, feeling knackered and nothing much else.

Going back in tomorrow to discuss induction.

Get on all fours (comfy with your elbows/chest resting a pile of cushions or pillows) bung on a good film and gently rock! Slowly back and forwards. Get someone to bring you a cupper and stay doing it as long as you feel comfy

and then do it later a bit more.

Worked for me when i needed to get DD3 on the way Flowers :)

Oh poor old you, sounds so tiring and painful. I hope they come up with a good plan tomorrow. With a long labour like this consider taking all the pain relief available because its hard going!
Take care and hope all goes well overnight and tomorrow Flowers

Well done for going in. With my first I had an anterior placenta and she was a very quiet baby so I was constantly in and out of the maternity unit to check.it was always fine but they confirmed she just didn't move much.

Funnily enough she is now 11 years old and she is still a very peaceful, still person who sits quietly for hours! Unlike her sibling Grin

Good luck, hope all goes quickly and smoothly for the rest of your labour.

DartmoorDoughnut · 04/02/2021 12:44

Hope you’re ok Flowers
